This afternoon was our first time coming here and safe to say we will be back!! Best Reuben I’ve ever had, food was delicious and portions were huge. By far the best part was the service though! Beverly was amazing, kind and attentive for our whole meal.

The service was good, thank you Oseas. The atmosphere was great and the food LOOKS great, however the taste of the food was not good enough to support any more stars. So I had to stop at 2.
I really wanted to love this place but I did NOT. 4 items cost $60 - 1 pastrami sandwich, potato chips, onion rings and a big cookie. $60
The pastrami was barely flavored and dry. The onion rings were not fully cooked, the potato chips were overcooked and the black and white cookie was HARD and desert sand dry. This place was a TOTAL food disappointment.

A great deli! Nice decor and theme throughout with a large (literally) and expansive menu of delicious deli food.

Kenny & Ziggy’s is a classic New York-style delicatessen that we always enjoy coming back to. The portions are huge—definitely shareable unless you’re ready to tackle a massive seven-inch sandwich on your own! It’s perfect for splitting dishes and trying a little bit of everything.

The menu is incredibly extensive, with something for every craving, and the matzo ball soup is absolutely delicious. They also have great options for kids, which makes it a very family-friendly spot. The desserts are just as impressive—big, rich slices that are perfect for sharing.

Yes, prices can be a bit on the higher side, but you’re getting quality kosher food and generous portions, so it feels worth it. The atmosphere is fun and nostalgic, with lots of posters and character throughout the space, which adds to the overall experience. The restaurant is also clean, including the bathrooms, which is always a plus.

The staff is friendly, and we’ve had many great visits here. The only downside is that during busy times, service can slow down, and you may have to flag someone down if you need something. That said, it hasn’t stopped us from coming back—we always have a great experience overall.

Definitely a go-to spot for hearty, shareable meals and a true deli experience!

As always Kenny & Ziggies professionalism and quality is at its best. I was there today for a private event. Yet again the food was a fresh and flavorful as can be, beautifully arranged and the wait staff professional and polite. This happened to be for a memorial so the staff were on point in that they were attentive and yet invisible. There was plenty of food, drinks and room. I have been to both private events, used their take out service and eaten in many times over the years and their food stands have remained high as has the service. This is a Houston best loved privately owned business and I’m proud to call myself a customer.

Very pricey but the quality is as good as it gets. Service is great too. If your on a budget, split something as it will be plenty to share. Otherwise be ready to take home a doggie bag. Oh, they were running the Holocaust Museum special - excellent choice and the Jeanne's Carrot Souffle is to die for!!! It's better than most desserts! Enjoy, but be sure to come hungry as you won't go away like that. :-)

Oh, yummy! The portions are massive and delicious. The kishke, although served in a way that was unique, brought back childhood memories- it was spot on. Absolutely giant reuben. The slabs of memorable new york style cake are eye-poppingly big. Don't miss dessert!
Add this to the fact we had an amazing waitstaff and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful.

Amazing in person. Complete betrayal to-go.
We came from Austin with family for a WC 2026 game in Houston and decided to stop at Kenny & Ziggy’s because everyone talks about their deli sandwiches.
At the restaurant I ordered #7 – The One and Only Reuben.
According to the menu: grilled sandwich with pastrami, melted Swiss, hot sauerkraut and Russian dressing.
And what they served in the restaurant was incredible.
Huge stack of pastrami, buttery grilled rye bread, toasted perfectly, rich flavor. One of those sandwiches where after the first bite you immediately say: “We’re coming back.”
The sandwich was so tall that we asked for extra rye bread to split it into normal-size portions. They brought plain rye instead of grilled rye — not toasted, no butter, nothing. That already felt lazy, but I let it slide because the sandwich itself was excellent.
Big mistake.
Before driving back to Austin we stopped again around 11 AM and ordered THREE more #7 sandwiches to-go.
We actually skipped eating because we wanted to enjoy them together once we got home.
We get back to Austin.
Sit down.
Open the wrappers.
And I honestly thought they packed the wrong order.
These were NOT #7 sandwiches.
No melted Swiss. No Russian dressing. Dry bread. Dry pastrami.
Basically somebody threw meat between slices of bread and hoped nobody would notice.
How does a sandwich called “The One and Only Reuben” arrive missing the exact ingredients that make it a Reuben?
And this wasn’t one sandwich.
All three.
That’s the part that really pissed me off.
This wasn’t some tiny mistake — this felt like a completely different product than what we paid for in the restaurant.
Once you’re already back in Austin, what are you supposed to do? Drive 160+ miles back to argue over sandwiches?
We paid full price for three premium sandwiches and ended up throwing them away.
Restaurant experience: 10/10
Takeout experience: 0/10
My advice: if you order #7 to-go, open every package before leaving because apparently #7 means one thing at the table and something else once it goes into paper.
