La Tapatia Reviews
We had a business lunch for some 40 people at La Tapatia located at 1749 Richmond Avenue. I was impressed by the service the restaurant manager Alberto provided from my initial contact through the end of the event and found him to be professional, trustworthy, and with an outstanding attitude towards his customers. Alberto offered suggestions and took personal ownership. Alberto's team especially Judith who helped with serving food did an outstanding job in making the event...read full review

La Tapatia is a classic Houston Mexican restaurant, feeding the city for a long time. The atmosphere is nice but not pretentious, and the food quality remains consistent. The green sauce is excellent. The menu offers cheap, delicious, and authentic Mexican food with generous portions. Customers recommend trying the mole enchiladas and camaron tacos. The restaurant is open late, with ample parking available. Service may be a bit slow during busy times, but the staff is attentive. The frozen margarita is highly recommended and often praised as spot on, along with the guacamole. The food is consistently good, and the restaurant is very clean. A recent visitor enjoyed a burrito dinner with Pastor, noting the meat was well seasoned. La Tapatia is a go-to nachos place; the la tapatia nachos with fajita chicken are so good. Fajitas were delicious, beans are good, and rice was ok. The queso is not the best but definitely not the worst. The drinks are great, and they have Mexican coke bottles available. The food is really good and very reasonably priced.
