What a disappointment - we went with great expectations based on reviews and recommendations from friends but could not have been more disappointed with the service and food quality. A lot of style but no substance - I do think they realized it as they offered us an unsolicited discount which was nice but not enough to justify a return. Perhaps we expected too much or they were overwhelmed with it being Valentine weekend but still no excuse. I hate writing negative reviews but thought it necessary if it helps keeps others from feeling as ripped off as we do.
This was our experience at a Michelin star restaurant, at and this one specifically. We do regularly go to fine dining restaurants but this was on a different level. Perfectly attentive staff from the moment we arrived caught our attention, and beautiful, artistic plating and wonderful flavor combinations kept it. Le Jardiniere delivered a perfect Valentine's Day experience.
Arguably still the best fine dining experience in Houston. With a setting that's unmatched. Food service decor all outstanding.
The service at Le Jardinier was truly next level, attentive, intuitive, and executed with quiet precision. Every detail was anticipated before we even had to ask. Paired with food that melted in your mouth and looked like literal art, it was a flawless dining experience from start to finish.

Sophisticated French cuisine in a beautiful museum definitely left a memory that only Michelin star restaurants can. Try it if in the area for sure.

i've been sitting on this review for a while - in June of 2025 i went for dinner with my friends. We each got the tasting menu. It was easily over $1000 by the end and not worth it in the slightest.
For some reason every single item was cool or lukewarm when it felt like it shouldn't be. I remember I liked the risotto and dessert, but 2/5 courses being acceptable is, in my opinion, unacceptable for that price. They need to stop serving the wagyu unless they can start ensuring consistent quality. I see reviews raving about how soft the wagyu is, and then reviews talking about how hard and chewy it was. We experienced the latter - the wagyu was chewy, cold, and hard to eat. None of us finished it. I boxed it and took it home to try to make fried rice with the left overs.
The photos we took were beautiful, the food was beautiful, the space was beautiful, but if you're going, that's all you should expect. I truly don't know how it got a michelin star. This is the sort of place you go to when you want to take cute instagram photos and want to chat for 2+ hours. Maybe i would take a coffee chat or a client here to impress them. But this is not the place you should go if you are looking for good food. It's like gambling. Spend $1000 for a 50/50 chance of getting soft wagyu.

Of course the food and service was impeccable. The flavors were so unique, I will most likely never experience that again....until I go back of course. 😉 You will not regret it!

A wonderful place for Lunch with great food and an unmatched view of gardens and sculpture. Truly amazing appetizers with masterful combinations of textures and flavors, especially the sunchoke veloute. The main courses were solid including the wagyu burger. Outstanding service by Diana, with friendly suggestions and food explanations. A truly unique venue in Houston for location, view, and excellent food. We will be going back for sure.

I had the opportunity of visiting the restaurant for lunch a few weeks ago, and was blown away by their hospitality, interior design, and, of course, their incredible food. It’s located in the Museum of Fine Arts, and its atmosphere is modern and beautiful. From the first greeting by the hostess, to our friendly server, I was pleased.
For lunch, we had the chef’s seasonal menu, Taste of Winter, which was a four course meal for $90. The first course was Burrata, with figs, treviso, pecan gremolata, and fruit compote. The second course was their Eggs on Eggs, which included soft scrambled eggs, royal kaluga caviar, and brioche. The third course, which was my favorite, was filet mignon, with fried eggs, broccoli rabe, and potato mille-feuille. The filet mignon was very tender. Finally, for the fourth course, we had Pear Tart, which included elder flower chantilly, and lemon cream. With the last course, I also had chamomile tea. It was soothing.
All in all, I was impressed by my experience there. I will definitely go back there and highly recommend it. I look forward to visiting during dinner, someday.

Everything was exceptional from food to service.
The restaurant is easy to locate once you put it on the map but valet was $15.
Sadly I didn’t take pictures of my food but the Green Circle chicken tasted so good! The scallops were great as well.
I also tried the beef tartare but I wasn’t a fan as it tasted extremely limey.
My cocktail was the Poms des Blancs which tasted really good and had a slight smoky flavor.
For desert, I had the butterfly.
The chef’s presentations were a 10/10 (I love it when food is presented well).
