That one bartender is the rudest, most sarcastic person I have ever met. I’m sure it’s bc my friend and I are young and Hispanic. I asked him for a recommendation on a red wine and poured me the first bottle he saw and had an ugly attitude. I asked what food they have and he literally lifted his arms and said “This is all we got.” So yall don’t have a cheese plate? Is that not food?? I will never come here again. If you are a minority I would not recommend this place. Been here before and got a weird vibe and wanted to give it a second chance.

We’ve always loved popping into this wine bar before a dinner out. You just describe the type of wine you like, they give you a few options, and you pick a glass. Amazing wine and ambiance! We came today on Masters Sunday wondering if we were making a mistake and if they even had a TV, ended up having such a fun pure time with Steve the owner and some other patrons watching the golf tournament. This place is a Houston gem. They’re serving food soon!

The bartender was very pretentious. When we asked for a menu, the server said they didn't have one, and that we wouldn't understand the menu anyway. Very off-putting. Limited availability of wines btg. Very chill spot. A good date spot, once you get beyond the service.

Being in the business and having had my fair share of natural wine, it was truly impressive to see the curated selection and chat with them about each wine.

I'm not sure what's better at Light Years, the extremely knowledgeable, friendly staff, or the extensive and well curated selection of natural wine . You'll be treated well and if you're new to natural wine, or wine in general, their staff will help you pick out something good to drink. This time around, we were unfamiliar with a certain area of town that we were going to visit and the staff (and patron) gave us some great tips on where to eat and drink (shoutout to John and Steve).
