I have been craving a taste of the island a lot recently and have tried the Loco Moco at another location earlier in thr wee, but it didn't quite fulfill my expectations. Coming here however, I was pleasantly surprised. Best plate I've had of Loco Moco in Houston. I dug in and almost forgot to snap a photo. Patties had a good sear, smelled delicious, nice portion of rice, and eggs cooked perfectly sunny side up. Don't let me get started on the Gravy.... It was a familiar taste that did not disappoint. My Houston-raised boyfriend came and ordered the same. We were both very pleased with the quality of the food and service. Definitely lived up to the name of the place. Hands down Ono grinds.

The food was really great. I had their Loco moco. It was the best I've had so fair. The eggs and beef were cooked to perfection. The rice was soft and fluffy. The gravy was good and savory. I will be back to order more.

Showed up at 8:10 on a Friday night, after driving 20 minutes to get here. When we walked in the door the lady was mopping the floor and informed us that they close at 8:30 and that by the time we got our food we would have to leave. Just wow. The door says they close at 9, as does Google. I've never been turned away from an open restaurant, even if I walked in 5 minutes before they close! It's a shame - I heard this place was really good... Guess I'll never know because the customer service is worse than terrible!
This place was not that great, I rather go to the original store across the street. Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. Not only is the taste better but the food is cheaper, and the whole vibe there seals the deal. Take my advice and try it out, then you can make your own mind up.

Well the food is alright a bit expensive but ok taste wise nothing too special like it tastes like Chinese food and I bet they use a lot of msg cause I need a lot of water to help with the dry taste that comes after eating the food. As in management I highly feel like Andy is doing a terrible job as well as Mike they only cover themselves and don't do what is right for the workers. They only care about money and the company so I think it is best for me to spot eating here. Especially since they don't follow food safety standards base on the other reviews. I really hope that they aren't able to franchise as they aren't profitable unless committing law violations. Please ppl wake up and see that they are bad ppl. Also the chairs are so uncomfortable to sit on and so bad to enjoy a meal on the table. Also they are very racist ppl that don't hired black people. There rice is always over cooked and tasted like plastic.Vegetarian options: Please if you are vegetarian please don't eat here they mostly cooked everything on the same grill
