We had the most wonderful experience at Makiin Thai for their Valentine’s dinner! The food was absolutely delicious, and the desserts were beyond yummy. Every dish was beautifully presented, making the entire meal feel extra special. The atmosphere was elegant and romantic, perfect for the occasion, and the customer service was truly exceptional. The food is good, but the presentation and decor are truly excellent. Highly recommend the deep fried fish, watermelon salad and the happy hour menu. From the apps, I enjoyed the savory cones, calamari and brussel sprouts. The curries were ok. The dessert tree is a fun way to round out the meal. It was my first time eating cotton candy since childhood.

Loved, loved, loved the experience! Great restaurant and great management. My group had several different appetizers and meals. I personally ordered the Lychee Martini (recommended by one of the staff, when I said that I liked sweet cocktails). It was delicious. Not too strong and it had a very smooth flavor. I actually finished it. My entree was the Crispy Garlic Chicken with a side of egg fried rice. The portions were good. Plating was beautiful and it actually came with jasmine rice. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My waitress (Abby) was very helpful with orders. She was extremely patient and asked other staff if she didn't know the answer to one of our questions. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. There's a big beautiful bar and the overall aesthetic was nice. The manager checked on our group many times throughout our meal and even took our picture as we left. Overall, I would definitely recommend Makiin and hopefully I'll get a chance to get back on that end and have another meal. So many restaurants, so little time. LOL!

Absolute worst experience Reservation 6:30, table ready at 7:15 Took 20 mins to get offered water, and it was never refilled throughout dinner. Drinks are ok, food is a step down from Panda Express, blandest dry rice ever and it took 40 mins to arrive. Rude manager. Server attended our large group like 3 times only, since he knew his tip was guaranteed he clearly didn’t care. No complimentary birthday dessert like they promised and overall horrible experience. I will not return nor recommend this place.

There is a small lot right outside this restaurant. Put plenty of parking in the underground garage and garage across the street.
The place was designed really well. We really enjoyed the decor, table settings and everything.
We ordered the drunken noodles, curry Cones, corn fritters, chicken pineapple thing, dumplings, chive cakes, calamari, and the cotton candy tree for dessert.
I must say, the calamari was a bit under seasoned and lacked a bit of flavor. Would love a bit more with it. But everything else hit the mark.
We loved the idea of a cotton candy tree and really enjoyed it.

My family and I visited this past Sunday. Finding parking in the restaurant parking lot and underneath the building was a challenge, so we gave up on that. But we easily found parking across the street, where customers park to go to Eddie V's. The entrance and inside this restaurant is so beautiful. The atmosphere and look of the place is an experience all by itself. We visited after seeing a review video on IG that announced there is a buffet. We were excited to learn once we got there a steak and eggs as well as mimosas are included with the buffet, so that was a good deal. The presentation of the buffet was beautiful and the food was mostly tasty. I noticed there was a delay with keeping everything replenished, including some food items and the mimosa glasses and juices. The champagne bottle was empty for a long time. I wanted the cranberry juice, but it took forever to be replenished. When I return, I will order from the menu. The turmeric fish and beef noodle dish were absolutely delicious. The soursop mocktail was wonderful. For the steak and eggs, the eggs were cooked perfectly. The steak really needed some seasoning or something. It was served with a delicious sauce, but the steak itself needed the grissel trimmed and at least be seasoned with lemongrass, garlic - something. It's tough to compete with all of the Thai restaurant options in Houston. If Makiin sharpens up in a few areas, I think they'll continue to do well.

From photos, I had high expectations of this place. The ambiance and decor is indeed beautiful and the bathroom is amazing as well. I'm not impressed with my meal at all. My noodles and protein were dry and didn't really taste like anything. The dumplings were probably the best part, and they were good but not great. The high tea on the other hand was actually not bad. The teas were quite nice and the birdcage filled with petite treats were not bad- some were better than others. I would recommend getting the high tea and for the ambiance. Service was on the better end of average, but perhaps it was because they were short staffed. They were polite and answered our questions the best they could. The building is easy to miss and parking is limited at the front of the restaurant. We parked on the street. Although there is a garage available.
Luxury Thai cuisine with nice ambience and delicacies . Had a great dinner time with family. Enjoyed Thai curry carinival. It's a must try. Will visit soon.

The food was beautifully presented and packed with authentic Thai flavors, everything tasted refined yet comforting. They also have a buffet section with unique food items. Don’t forget to try their mocktails (Phuket dream, songkran, happy mango) Service was attentive without being overwhelming. Definitely a place I’d come back to!
