I have been patronizing this place for over 5 years. It hasn’t been the best but I manage to go there cos I like the fish.
Yesterday was the last time I’ll ever go there. I was there with my partner. The fish was stale and hard! After taking a piece of it we complained. The lady with low cut that’s usually at the bar came to take the food away. She was clearly not happy with the fact that I complained. She later brought the fish back. For some reason we flipped it over and it was the same fish she took away! It had the same hole we made when we tasted it initially. Why bring us the same fish we asked you to change? She now says she refuses to serve us. I challenged her. She said she can show me the fish in the kitchen. When we ( the shirt haired lady and I )got to the kitchen, she asked the staff for the fish she brought back. One of the staff innocently said, Madam you took one back and left one. She started asking “where is the second fish ?”. She kept repeating that question. Then another staff who was at the front had come in and he took me to the thrash to show me another random fish. She now says my guest can go home to cook fish as well. I was like, Madam is that how you talk to you customer? I have been coming here for over 5 years. She kept repeating that I should tell my guest to go cook at home.
I’m Nigerian and I really hate that most African restaurants ( this place is Cameroonian) they are no different from us , DO NOT have good customer service.
Only a few have good customer service but it is SAD to experience this outside the continent. It is a BIG SHAME!
I paid for the plantain by the way. I have no issues paying but that short haired lady is a SHAME.

Totally some of the BEST African food I’ve had in a long while, the drum fish was amazing, staff was super nice and very welcoming. I met the owner Ernest and Marie, wonderful couple, when I’m back in Houston, I’m definitely going back.

The lady that served us doesn’t have a professional way of doing things. She is shrewd and very rude with an unpleasant face .

Me and my family came here to have dinner and I must say the food was amazing. We ordered the grilled fish, Suya , jollof and egusi soup and when I tell you this egusi is the best in the city hands-down, they take the cake. The fish was delicious grilled to perfection with a great spice! Jollof was on point !!! Suya was great too ! I can’t wait to go back this is now my favorite place to come chop . Very sad to come and spend top dollars on such great quality food just to be disguised with such bad humor, bad attitude and disrespect. Food is good but all the workers are very rude to customers including senior citizens. Lost my business
I have been going there for years, but after last night, never again. The jollof rice keeps going up in price but decreasing in amount/size. I was okay with that before, because I will pay for what I enjoy. But last night was the final straw, 51 dollars for rice and meat. I know the cost of everything is going up but rice is very cheap especially when it’s bought in bulk so they are making huge profits. But last night it tasted HORRIBLE. It had this very pungent taste to it. I’m not sure if it was spoiled or what. Even my 9 year old son was about to vomit and he usually loves it. The. It had these hard black materials in it. To say the least, I am very dismayed.
I recall one day last year I went there and the owner or whoever the lady is took my order over the phone and said 20 minutes. When I got there, my order was not ready. I stood there another 20 minutes, and when I asked about my order and said I thought you said 20 minutes, she yelled at me and said “Mama, I’m not in the pot”, That should have been my cue then to stop going there. I just said whatever because I know how African women can be. But let me go to my Nigerian restaurants and give them my money for better food and service. You are not in Cameroon, this is AMERICA. And you need to find some type of consistency with your food.
