I was so happy to have this easy and reasonably priced option when I was staying with family for over 2 weeks. Everything I tried was good. Thank You Memorial City Cafe.

Good selection of food but the servers are mean….buying breakfast from there makes me loose appetite because of their poor customer service.

This is by no means a five star restaurant, but I am rating it at five stars because of the good selection right where you need it; inside a hospital.A very very dear friend of mine was admitted for emergency brain surgery in the wee early AM hours yesterday morning. In times like these, you don't want to leave your post. No telling when the doctor will come to talk to you, no one knows if all will be okay and you can literally wither away from hunger; whether you realize you're hungry or not. This little cafe is located on the first floor of the East Tower inside Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Memorial City District. I wasn't hungry, but knew I needed to eat, and I fully anticipated I would get just a basic cellophane wrapped sandwich with a bag of chips to hold me over until I could get real food. Well, it's not the first time I've been wrong. This cafe has it all! Pizza, burgers, salads, chicken fried steak, pork loin, sides of veggies, rice, french fries, handmade sandwiches, fresh fruit, muffins and cereal cups. They also have the basic "grab 'n go" items like premade sandwiches, chips, bagged candy and such. I was impressed by the selection, the friendly service and the space itself. They have plenty of dining tables if you need a quick break from the waiting room scene. Their beverage selection is great too. Bottled water, tea, soda, juices, milk and coffee. All the condiments you need are provided including jellies, salt, pepper, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, sugar, creamer and even hot sauce. Napkins and plastic utensils are also available. I ordered the BLT with french fries and a bottled lemonade. I also got a bag of gummy bears. My total was $8.76. That is an amazing deal especially for how good the food was in both presentation and taste. My BLT was on toasted bread with chipotle mayonnaise and sliced avocado. The girl who made my sandwich agreed to my request and substituted the spring leaf lettuce for regular shredded lettuce for me (she even chopped it herself). I couldn't believe I was eating such a good meal from a hospital food court. Getting something in my stomach at a traumatic time was necessary and I'm thrilled with the convenience, service and price. I'll be visiting this little cafe for the next few days while I'm with my friend. So happy I have choices and again, those prices!

Weird hours. Not always open at posted hours, but the coffee is better than in the cafeteria or units.
