Best bar in Houston, great micro brews. Must visit.

Drink and give to charity?? I'll sign on to that. This is a great spot for a night out with friends (when we can do that again). In the meantime, here is a five star review to remind everyone of a fantastic little Houston gem.

Everyone at our table was enjoying everything. I've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back.

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. My friend left her card, and realized 2 minutes after we left (probably about 1:50-1:55) so we called asking if they had it. They stated they were closed (it had just turned 2am) and we asked them if they could slide it under the door (we were standing outside) but they refused and at some point the lady on the phone asked "well can you see me?" when we were asking to get the card. I was completely transparent with her and let her know we had left about 5 minutes ago, were standing outside, and just needed to get it off the table, but she refused saying we could get it another day (even though we were outside). So we accepted saying we would come back another day, and asked for the lady's name. At this point, the lady Ashton, ashtyn, whatever, refused to give us her last name and proceeded to hang up without getting our friends info (the one who left her card), and the HUNG UP on her without getting her info. We called back and she answered again with an attitude and was extremely unhelpful. I've been in customer service over 5 years and never had this kind of treatment. I would never hang up on a customer, I'd get my manager if anything. But she felt the need to act on her own and with an attitude. I will be calling tomorrow to ask for a manager because I cannot believe Ashton, or any server, would handle service this way. She should be terminated immediately for her lack of empathy and disregard for respect.

Awesome! Friendly staff and cool atmosphere, all proceeds go to the charity of your choice (of those which are on selection at that time)

Time of day definitely impacts your experience at OKRA. So, I'll break my review up based on that factor: // Late Afternoon, Happy Hour: The perfect bar. Great HH specials (4-6:30), ample seating, sexy ambiance and top-tier bartenders. They've also got a healthy variety of bar bites, pizzas and flatbreads. I adore Okra around 6 pm on a Friday after work. // Late Night, Weekends: Unless you like the yuppy, frat boy scene, with slow bar service and huge crowds, it may not be your vibe. The subtle appeal of Okra's afternoon scene is completely lost to its Saturday night crowd. TL;DR: Great HH contender, obnoxious party bar after 10 pm on weekends. But hey, it's for charity!

A percentage of their revenue goes to charity. When you get your drink they give you a ticket to use to select the organization you'd like to support.

My fave place to have a drink downtown since every patron receives a raffle ticket per drink which is used to cast a vote for a nonprofit. The ones with the most tickets receive a portion of the proceeds. This is an everyday thing, not just a once in awhile thing. So, get there, have a drink and do some social good!

My new favorite bar. Nice location. Interesting architecture. Friendly staff. Non-profit.

Good bar, pool table in the back. Can get crowded and sometimes can be difficult to get a drink. Cool concept with donating to the various charities

I brought 22 people into Okra. They refused reentry, because part of our group ate a Frank’s pizza outside. I spoke with the manager about it. She refused reentry stating that they sell food. We ended up all going to another bar.

I brought 22 people into the place. My friends went out to get a pinks pizza. The bouncer refused reentry, because they ate the pizza on the city side walk. I spoke with the manager who said they serve food. They weren't able to enter so we all left. I was very disappointed in their customer service and response.
