The quality and service at Samurai Noodle used to be great until they moved from their Heights location to Downtown. They are now located at Lyric Marketplace which is like a food court. There is only one person working, taking orders and preparing the food. One of the guys (don’t know his name) that works there is a bit rude especially when I complained that my food was not hot. He made an excuse that I was the first person he has ever heard complain about the food - like do I get a prize for being the first one to complain? 😂 But seriously, out of all the food in the world, soup should always be hot and there’s no excuse for it not being so. My ramen has continuously been lukewarm and the miso is piled up at the bottom of my bowl. Not only is the ramen not hot, but they aren’t even bothering to stir the soup while it’s cooking. It’s truly unfortunate since their ramen was once amazing! I have been eating at Samurai for three years, but I will probably no longer eat there anymore.
Yummy AF. Great service and delicious hand made noodles.

I don't want to accuse anything but my wife and I have diarrhea after having ramens here. We feel the noodle were not fully cooked.

So yum! From the ramen to the chicken. And I love the food hall location! I can eat ramen and then get dessert or another treat. Also get 2hrs free parking with QR code on receipt!

My experience here was really bad. Really really bad. There was only one employee and he is the worst person I’ve ever met in the food industry. He had no sense of respect and was highly irritable and almost berated me for simply asking him how long it would take for him to have 10-12 orders ready (I had an order of 12 entrees). Thats all I wanted to know and refused to talk to me until he finished the order he was working on right in front of me. 2 min later I go up to him and say “Hey man I wasn’t pressing you I just wanted to know how long-“ he cuts me off with “Just tell me what kind of noodles you want, Cap.” Not sure why this guy decided to throw all decency out the window considering he works in the service industry. Frankly that guy should never have a job where he needs to deal with customers. I tried the vegan miso and maybe its because it’s vegan but it is easily the blandest broth and noodles I’ve had at a ramen shop. I do not recommend this place at all and honestly I’m stunned at all the glowing reviews.

The service was kind. I got the shoyu tonkotsu and the taste wasn’t really there for me. It came with woodear, pork belly, and green onions for 13.00+, an egg and all the other accoutrements were extra. The pork belly didn’t seem seasoned.
I got one of the spicy ramens. And the flavor was rather bland and lacking in spice. The after taste left a gritty texture not to be desired. Overall, I felt that the broth was not made from scratch but a powdered mix.

Spent the morning sightseeing downtown Houston this morning, this ramen shop popped up on my radar in time for lunch. Been craving a nice bowl of ramen, so I ordered the spicy miso tonkatsu ramen and a side of shrimp shumai. The broth was so very flavorful and silky, I drank it from the bowl. I didn’t need to any additional seasonings. I could have this ramen every day!

Not authentic ramen!! We asked for Gyoza and they didn’t say they didn’t have it, instead they gave us fried octopus. Very disappointed. Won’t be coming back.

Broth is average, didn’t taste like the bone broth it claims.
