AYCE wagyu hot pot. High quality ingredients. Sauces and broths are spot on. Highly recommended!

The new AYCE menu is a sweet deal and offers super high beef while costing a fair amount of money. Without the AYCE option, it ends up costing too much to feel full here. I like the location being away from main Chinatown area as it has become too crowded and stressful on Bellaire. Would return to Shabu Squared as I was very pleased with the quality and service!

Shabu squared is absolutely our favorite hot pot place hands down. We’ve come here around 5 times already, we take all our out of town friends here and I even celebrated my birthday here recently. Now you may wonder why I rated it 2 stars while im singing praises…for two reasons.1. Meat quality is inconsistent. Every time we come, we try a new soup (never had a bad soup base) and we ALWAYS start with zabuton. It’s marbled thin cut melt in your mouth goodness, single handedly carries the cost of the meal. And while often times, it’s more marbled than Michelangelo, sometimes it’s really lean, like beef chuck lean... and it’s like this with various cut of meats as well, so quality control is lacking. But that’s only applicable to meat, because that handmade shrimp roll of shrimpy goodness never misses.2. Service. The first time we came here, granted it was a random 3pm, we had the most amazing waiter who was clearly incredibly passionate about his job. He went into incredible detail for each cut of meat and honestly gave us a michelin star rated experience. That, is still by far, my favorite experience at Shabu Squared. But each visit was progressively worse service. In fact, the most recent birthday celebration, we spent more time waiting for meats than eating, we were missing items that we ordered and our water cups were more empty than full. Our broths even got so neglected, it couldn’t even cover a piece of broccoli…It pains me to say, but for $45, not even zabuton can overcome the type of service we received. It’s a shame, but this will longer be our restaurant of choice. Frankly, I was embarrassed endlessly raving about this restaurant only to follow up with such disappointing service…on my birthday.

Came here on a random Monday night and our server, Tony, is absolutely amazing! I would come again just for him alone but the food is also amazing!! He taught us about the food, the best way to eat it, and the culture. It was so so fun talking to him and he made us laugh a lot. My group and I had the best experience ever. I would say this is the best service I've had in years! Love that guy!!We’ve gotten the $46 AYCE option every time and love it! The meats here are an insanely good quality and it's so yum! I usually feel really bloated and groggy after eating hotpot but I've never felt this way here! I always come out feeling very rejuvenated!

The food was ok, not the best place I've been for hotpot. The tables are small and can only accommodate max 4 people. Not very big family friendly.

Now I have been here a total of three times and I live out of state. I first came when it was new and this was prior to ayce. The food was fresh and the price was fair at that point but now it's ayce and it's so much better. There's various level of ayce here with different price but since we came out of state we opted for the higher priced tier to get some wagyu. Broth is so flavorful. Veggies are complimentary now.Service is fast and it's busy here but I haven't seen a line form so it's fairly decent. Inside has multiple tv which are mainly sports shown. They have variety of alcoholic beverages for those who want to drink as well. Salmon is fresh surprisingly since it's a hot pot place. One thing I notice was it's really chilly in here but once you start eating it gets warmer. I wonder if it's intentional
