The absolute best donuts I have ever eaten in my entire 72 years came from Shipley's. I don't live in Houston anymore, but N. Main (particularly) and Ella Blvd hold special places in my heart. I could always ask for plain glazed fresh from the grease and sugar and be assured of getting donuts that literally melted while you held one by the hole with your thumb and index finger. Heavenly!!!
