? Cafeteria-style dining, but with a southern twist.? It's easy to miss this restaurant because it's located around a corner and not as visible as other businesses.

Great food, great price, great service. 10x better than surrounding joints and the line is short too

Great value. Lots of options that all look great.

I chanced upon this place as I was doing some exploring downtown. I was not familiar with "The Shops" at all, so this was a first-time tour around this mall-like thing that seems to be either in a state of slowly coming back to life or dying a slow death. I want to hope that it is slowly coming back as more businesses are reopening and coronavirus cases subside. So... Simon's Homestyle Cafe. Lunch was twelve bucks. the breaded chicken was way too oily. The pasta was meh. The fried okra was HARD. The cornbread was tiny and sweet (I do not abide sweet cornbread, as to me that is cake). All in all, this is not my style of homestyle. I will have to give it a pass in the future.

The food is great! However, the male cashier lies about the prices. The manager should publicly post the prices for each item.

So good. Wish I could get it delivered.

Great food at a really great price!

If I could give a ZERO, I would. Hard to believe that an employee is in their food service area WITHOUT A MASK! This is shameful and not safe. I will no longer be eating here.

Went to The Shops to grab lunch after yoga and was craving something a little on the healthy side. I've been meaning to try it out bc it looked pretty good so I decided why not. I got the avocado chicken over pasta with broccoli and a salad for $11. The food was good but not great. Needed a little more flavor but I overall enjoyed my meal and would go back - especially bc i heard they change up their menu quite often and sometimes you just crave that cafeteria style food. The staff was also really nice!!

Delicious food, highly recommend for anyone looking for something outside of most of the chain food options in Downtown Houston.

Quick service food to go. Good variety options for lunch everyday. Price is reasonable for downtown location.
