Sorry it took me a moment to post this… I have visited Phil & Derek’s multiple times… afternoons and evenings (make a reservation if you want a guaranteed seat ?) the food NEVER disappoints. They have good music (R&B mostly) playing during the day and sensational live artist some evenings. Next door use to be the comedy spot (it was/is nice too) I have to make this post about the most scrumptious catfish I've ever tasted. The crispy coating was on point! It gave way to tender and flavorful fish inside ?. I truly savored every bite and enjoyed the shrimp as well ( my husbands food but I ate his ?) the other dish (sorry I forgot) was delicious as well?. If you haven’t visited please do yourself a favor and GO….. do KNOW they will add gratuity to large parties and they are not too expensive, but definitely not cheap…. ? Great for lunch dates or couples night out.

Great atmosphere I went to this place on a Thursday. The jazz was excellent along with the laid back feel. The food was not the best. We ate before we got there and I am glad we did. We opted to get some dessert (donut bread pudding). I took 2 bites and couldn’t eat it. I was not a fan. Needless to say, I would definitely come back for the vibes but not the food.

This Establishment Doesn’t Deserve Any Stars ?? I Loved This Place & Visited Often Before Pandemic But Yesterday Was The Absolute Worse Experience Ever! I Arrived & Got On The Waiting List At 12 Noon & Was Told The Wait Was About 45 Minutes Which Turned Out To Be An Hour & 30 Minutes Then After Being Seated And Placing Our Order An Hour & Half Later After Speaking To Manger About Long Wait & Was Given An Excuse About The Kitchen Being Backed Up The Food Comes Out Cold ? So At This Point Me & My Other 2 Guest Are Really Pissed Cause Of Course After Being That Patient Who Would Expect We’d Receive Cold Food! After Another Manger Comes To The Table & Apologize He Offers To Get The Order Remade & Promise It’ll Be Fresh He Offered An Discount Which Is Typical Of Mangers & Kinda Expects Us Customers Should Just Be Satisfied Well I Didn’t Come To Patronize Your Business Looking For A Discount I Wanted A Great Experience & You Guys Didn’t Do The Job Not To Mention The After The Management Offered The Discount When The Tab Came So Did He Saying He Apologize Again But He Couldn’t Honor The Discount He Offered ???‍♀️ Very Distasteful & I’ll Never Come Back This Overall Visit Was A Total Waste Of My Day!

One of the best comedy venues in Houston…it’s a good mix of seasoned professionals who stop by for a quick set and newcomers on the rise. Fantastic atmosphere and great drinks & food. 🍾😎
