Seated immediately. Attentive service. Excellent food with the barbecue rib appetizer exceptionally good. Burgers and sandwiches all well received. Will return.
First drink had a Nat in it. I ordered. Late and received a cappuccino.. other than that it was good.
I've been here a lot for lunch and brunch and loved it each time. But this past time I went with my family, it seems like they changed the menu. They made it smaller and took some things off the menu. The food quality was just meh. I was a little bummed to see a place I've loved in the past change. The service was great, but the food and change in menu was a little off putting.
Great place to take family, I brought my mom here for Labor Day weekend and she loved it. Their mimosa flight, deviled eggs, grits, and breakfast burrito were all amazing.
We celebrated my Goddaughter's birthday here. The breakfast boards were amazing and the Mimosas were delicious!! Our waiter was fantastic! Great personality and outstanding customer service! We will definitely be back and tell our family and friends to try StateFare!!!
I find the food inconsistent in presentation and preparation. My food was great while my table mates were overcooked/burnt. The dessert that was delicious the week before was prepared differently and just ok a week later. A little disappointed with my experience.
Great experience! Went for my birthday and honestly the service was great ! Food was amazing.
Went here because it had good ratings but the food was terrible. There are many places to eat in Houston...try somewhere else.
Came to celebrate a birthday for brunch. Had reservations and we were promptly seated. Wait staff was helpful and attentive. The problem was with the brunch food. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Most of us had the State Fare Breakfast. While I enjoyed the egg and sausage, the other items on the plate left something to be desired. The bacon was limp and not crispy, the hash browns were too thick & as a result the inside was not cooked thoroughly. The cathead biscuit was too hard and thick. Everyone stated that the biscuit could have been softer and fluffier. The coffee was good, but for those that are lactose intolerant, we wanted something other than half and half as the creamer. They did offer us cool whip as an alternative, which was nice. The cooks apparently could not get my sister's scrambled eggs to her satisfaction. Now on to the other dish that did not meet expectations. The Birria Benedict is something that needs to be reimagined. The cornbread waffle was very soggy after being drenched in all the toppings that accompanied it and is not a good dish with the waffle at the bottom. Maybe, put the waffle on the side, or substitute another type of bread, like a corn tortilla instead of a waffle. Soggy waffles are never good. I'd like to give this place another try but would need to experience other dishes to see if this was just a bad choice of entrees.
The dill pickle dip and elote avocado toast were really good, but the truffle brie grilled cheese had too many mushrooms, so you couldn't taste the truffle or brie.

Always our go-to for brunch! They have different kinds of brunch options, not your typical menu. Service is always great, especially with our big group and when the server was dealing with my complicated friend 😅
Flight margaritas and Burgers for the hubby and me. The waitress was very nice and smiling, she introduced herself and was very informative. The food was amazing, this was the second time I've eaten there, the first time was the sugarland location. This location which is the memorial city location has better parking. I had a reservation after church, but arrived early. They seated us immediately. I really enjoyed everything and was so full. The drinks were just right and I was tipsy just enough. I will go back to this location again.
Myra was our waitress , she was exceptionally nice, polite, kind. Food was awesome as always , it's small town south with five star taste.
Cute and quiet on Fourth of July for lunch. Food was good, loved the Jalapeño hush puppies .
We were excited to try this restaurant out on Father's Day but sadly, very disappointed with the overall experience. Steak was not good and mostly consisted of fat. The chicken was sooo dry, maybe try brining it in pickle juice to keep it from drying out. The server was very polite but toook forever to bring tea, food or acknowledge us most of the time. We had to ask 4 times for ice water when we sat down. $200 later, waste of time and money. Not worth it!!!
