Today I had a special experience at this hidden Japanese restaurant in Houston. It's run by an older Japanese couple who cook with passion. The sushi was some of the freshest I've ever had, and to my surprise, the miso soup—which I don't normally enjoy—was delicious. It felt like being in someone's home, with love in every dish.🍣✨
simply the best sushi and maki in Houston. The space has a bit smell but caterpillar maki will make you ignore. Expect some waiting. Open only 3 hours per day.

My absolute number one most favorite sushi spot! I’ve been coming here since I was in my early teens, so definitely over 10 years ago. I love the couple that runs this spot, and I only hope that the business continues to flourish. The wife is very sweet and they both work very hard. I’m glad she still remembers me after many years even though I moved to Dallas.
My favorites to get is always the crispy spicy sake maki and the shaggy dog roll.
Everything here is huge, the rolls barely fit in my mouth one piece at a time. Their hours change often but they finally settled on a good set of hours that work for them.
Located in the heart of Chinatown, owned by a Japanese couple serving authentic Japanese sushi.

The food is perfect. I don't know anywhere else that you can get such good sushi in such a price. The only shortage is they only have 1 waitress and 1 chef (btw, I heard that they are a couple of Japanese), so you have to wait. I was waiting for 40-60 min, I guess. But it is still highly recommended👍

Small mom and pop shop run only by Mr. and Mrs. Miyagi. Lines aren't long like they used to be on the weekdays. I was seated right away when they opened and no one else was here for a while. The food is just as good as I remember: fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. Also the portions are still as large as I remember. I only got 8 pieces of sashimi and was absolutely full afterwards.
What I would recommend:
Unagi sashimi
Spicy hotate sushi
Spider maki
Spicy salmon bowl over rice (my favorite)
Support small businesses! This spot is open Tuesday to Saturday, 12-3 PM. Mr. and Mrs. Miyagi are a sweet elderly couple and I'm grateful to see their business still thriving about a decade after I first discovered this place.

Best sushi in Houston but don’t go there when you’re hungry. Not many sushi chefs or servers.

We went on the perfect day! There was no queue and we were seated and served food really quick. Being a vegetarian, anytime I find veggie sushi I'm STOKED. We had an Udon noodle soup, and I loved the noodle, which my friend said was made in-house. It was bouncy and thick, just how I like my noodles.
Coming to the sushi, we ordered all the veg ones and IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT. I would go there again and again just for the sushi. Highly recommend. The old couple also are really sweet.

Have known about this place for a while but didn’t visit until now, and I regret not coming here sooner. The place is small and a bit old, but clean and giving vintage vibe. I was waiting for about 30min for my food to come, not too long but also not too fast but because the place is owned and operated by only an old couple, it’s understandable. However, the wait is definitely worthy since the sushi is very delicious (and cheap!). The old lady is very nice and friendly, and even though she’s the only waitress, she gave excellent services.
