the area is not safe
This place used to be Great, now it’s average to say the best. Taco used to be around $1.4 now costing $2.6. Food is quite good but the service and atmosphere is not great. People used to line up to dine at this hole in the wall place now the place is empty on Saturday. Their price has gone up but food just got much more greasier and service is pretty much nonexistent. Would not recommend unless you live nearby in Summer 2025.

This place is the real deal. Our group enjoyed everything we ordered, the staff was helpful, and the prices were the best in all of Houston. We will return anytime we're in the area. I recommend trying their papusas, they are my new favorite thing.

We order some dinner and we were disappointed big time. The tostadas were lacking everything. It didn’t had enough chicken beans. The order of enchiladas were cold and we found a hair. Totally disappointed this time.

I don't recommend that place, the workers don't use gloves to prepare the tacos, that's how they prepare everything 🤢
Restaurantji Recommends
I experience racism and food extremely cold Choro beans straight out the refrigerator! Chicken Quesadilla Was dry and warm… I was treated as if I was unwelcome to eat !!!! So I decided to do a write up and expose this restaurant to FCC and the food administration Of Texas and the City of Houston…. By way of Television and all social media platforms…… I have pictures of the restaurant and the people who committed this act… it was deliberately done and and the individual show me they didn’t on purpose. So I say to any other race that is not Hispanic….. do not go there and eat at Taco La Bala they will do nasty things to your food…. By the I am Clergyman a local Pastor….. do not go there!!!!!! Warning… I am also disabled

They don’t open on time. I asked them at for the opening time and they said they didn’t k ow at what time they would be opening.
The first thing I notice is that establishment is so small that people often have to wait for seating to open up.
Service is horrible, I wanted to know if the barbecue was lean or fatti and asked the cashier taking our order if she knew or if she could find out with the kitchen staff and she refused to take four steps to her right to ask and told me "just don't order that" worst service. Also, my mother of 74 years of age went up to the counter where you pick up your food and asked the guy handing out the food for the small molcajete salsa and answering in a very short/rude way to ask the cashier. The owner or management really needs to check the employees. It seems like I'm not the first customer to have experience bad service.
The food flavor is on point, very delicious, but fell short on the portion serving. The flour tortillas are really good but barely put any meat in the tacos. The amount of meat they put in the taco is barely enough for half of the taco. Yes, they are really cheap, but then again, you get what you pay for. I rather go somewhere we're they're going to charge me $3.00/taco but get a well served taco with enough meat. I can oversee the small meat portion because the food tasted really good, but I can't let go of the bad service. Especially when they speak to my mother in a rude way.

Of all the taquerias, las balas is the worst, bala three always gives you what they want, they never answer the phone, sometimes they give you sauces, sometimes they don't, they never give you the complete order of all, it's the worst😡😡😡
Today I ordered 3 sopes and a gordita through Uber Eats. My gordita was burnt without opening the plate. It stank of burning. I can't believe they don't notice. Don't be like that. You pay for good service. It's my favorite place. Don't do this. That's garbage. I know I ordered late but if you don't want to go out late, stay home.
