Firstly the food is amazing! Never dry, great proportions, and always fresh. If you’re looking for rice and meat to meet your carb and protein goals this place is a great stop. Secondly, the customer service is phenomenal. Its professional commercial quality meets authentic home styled customer service and food. Every customer gets treated like family and served food just like it as well!

Tarka Kitchen this location is the best. They are so accommodating when it comes to allergy. They make sure there is no gluten cross contamination for us. Food is awesome. My kids love it too.

First time here, Chris took care me and recommended a coconut curry which was fresh, flavorful, and fulfilling. I also had garlic naan bread and basmati rice. Everything came out hot and quickly. The mango lemonade was refreshing. Very welcoming experience.

“Worst experience ever. The timer kept increasing like a scam while my order sat there doing nothing.”

The quality has gone down so much... rice portions smaller, the vindaloo is super watery. What are yall doing. I paid extra for vegetables and tipped well. The vidaloo looked like soup, not creamy what sooo ever. They also got my order wrong. They gave me tofu instead of my cauliflower dish. Wow, I might have to call it on this location serving much longer.

I have eaten at Tarka on South Shepherd.
The food is mediocre. They don’t understand the word ‘spicy hot’ - as in chilli hot .
Catering to White American taste palate only!
I picked up food at West 19th , Shepherd Drive, Houston and I was asked if I want spice on the side !!!!!! 😂 , despite the fact that I requested the ‘hot’ level be high.
Clearly, they are catering to the White population, when they should also be catering to the large Indian population living in Houston. Shame on you.

First timer and will definitely be back! Split the chicken kabobs and the cauliflower appetizer special. Delicious isn’t enough of a word. Layers of flavor with just the right amount of heat! Fast and friendly staff. Inviting atmosphere.

I usually frequent Indias restaurant but I had to try this place out and I’m so glad I did! The chicken pakora and chicken tikka with the saag paneer was amazing! You won’t be let down.

Decent Indian food, which can be hard to come by in Houston. I come here almost weekly.

Mike, the manager, was extremely helpful! I needed a missing receipt for my expense report, and he took the time to track it down for me. Excellent customer service—thank you, Mike!
