I went to this place with my team from work. We were a party of 7, but we did not arrive to the rest. at the same time. The first group (4 people) arrived and wanted take a table for the whole group (7 people). The manager told us there are tables available, but we won't let you in until the full group (the 7 of us) arrives!!!!!! Wait did I hear that right?! We can not take a table and wait for the others at the table?! Why?? Moreover, the manager was VERY rude and irrespectful about it and did not even have a clue about basic customer service. Resturant policy!!! I swear I was leaving and never going back, but only felt bad as my team really wanted to dine at this place. A place that doesn't respect their customers, does not worth a dime! Welcome to my black list.

Great food and service. Saul and Bobby are fun and conscientious servers. We love the Texas history throughout the restaurant. The owners have created an atmosphere for wonderful memories and also very attentive hospitality.

Bad Gift Card Experience I purchased 15 of $100 gift cards for our employees on line and got $50 bonus gift cards instead of $25 value which I needed to distribute evenly. I went to restaurant to get it exchanged and response was nothing like what I would expect from Taste of Texas I have known. They were out of $25 cards and they can’t do anything about it. The promotion is over and they will not get more cards when I said I can wait to get them exchanged. Even the manager in duty confirmed I will not be able to even get refund. The restaurant is not part of online gift cards sales when I bought them from their website.
His attitude was cold and firm. I did not see any kindness.
This will be my last visit to Taste of Texas. To me they were Taste of Kindness of Christianity and Texan but now I felt it is all about making MONEY!!
And now. It is overpriced mediocre steakhouse pretending they are Taste of our great state of Texas.
After I posted the review, I received an email from Taste of Texas and they took care of it promptly by sending the gift cards in $25 value as needed.

I have tried this place twice thinking maybe the first time was just a fluke, but after eating here a second time yesterday, I don't believe that's the case. I honestly don't see why people rave about this place. The salad bar is pretty amazing, but the steaks are AWFUL! I ordered a filet and it was the fattiest fillet if ever had! It wasn't edible, literally. I mentioned it to our waiter and there was no response. I even showed him, and he couldn't have cared less. It was the same for one of the other person in our party who also ordered a filet. The men orderd ribeyes, and both said they were tasteless. One of which added the garlic butter topper which also added zero flavor to the meat. In a city as large as Houston, with a many dining options as we have, I won't be spending my money at this establishment again.

It is an experience to come to this restaurant... The service is fantastic... all the staff provides wonderful attention... their cuts of meat surpass excellence. With ample spaces, adequate lighting, authentic decoration, they take care of every detail... in short, the best steakhouse in Houston. At Taste of Texas you can come with your family or as a couple to eat exquisite dishes, be treated like kings, take photos and have a great time!
Parking: It doesn't matter if you park your car far from the entrance...it will always be worth it.

Great place for an upscale dining experience. It can get crowded so if you don't have a reservation you may find yourself waiting for a bit. The servers are knowledgeable regarding the food selection. You are able to pick your cut of steak if you wish and it is always cooked to the right temperature. I have returned not just for special occasions but also for a nice evening out.
