AMAZING CHOCOLATE TRES LECHES. The uncle cake is HUGE, good but a bit overly sweet for me, a little dry. Vanilla tres leches also very good, although the corner slice had some sad dry cake on the edge😂😂 still loved this place, very nice service, good quality cake that doesn’t leave me bloated.
Like others have said, The original Chocolate Bar was iconic, I loved the ambiance. I came back into town for a visit had a red velvet cake. I was expecting a better tasting cake. This cake was not moist like I had previously.
Baking large cakes such as those found at The Chocolate Bar can be tricky in terms of balancing rise, flavor, and moisture. Most visits, the Aunt Etta is moist and delicious. This time, it was a bit of a letdown. It was somewhat dry and lackluster, perhaps because it was already pre-sliced and in a container. The other slices of cakes - Uncle Daryl, Wedding, and Black Russian - were cut to order and great quality. Lesson learned.
