Incredible burgers, clean restaurant, and great location. Came near closing and Josh took very good care of us and explained the process considering it was our 1st time. I highly reccommend this place! Burgers are on point.

I wish I could've had the opportunity to rate the food, only drawback was that we weren't serviced for 15 minutes. My date and I just sat there while the staff showed no urgency to get to us. No menus or drinks were offered, so we had to get up and go elsewhere. Disappointing.

Just had my first experience here and I gotta say the other reviews are on point here. I had the build your own burger and it was a filling delicious meal with quality ingredients. Pros: decent food, they really do try for quality Nice waitstaff Cons: Severely understaffed (2 waitresses for 30+heads) Understaffing leads to - long wait times, dirty tables, poor table side service, etc. Also a little overpriced for the experience.

Loved my Turkey burger! You can choose how many pounds of meat you would like. 1/3lb is the size of a normal burger. The Shoestring fries are so amazing! I did spinach, roasted cherry tomatoes, and avocado on my burger. You can choose 3 sauces for $.75. Love the Garlic sauce. You can also choose different bun styles. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. You can build your own burger or order a menu item. It's about $10 a burger. TIP: Do your yelp checkin for free fries!!!

One of my fav spots when I'm craving a burger. They provide you with a DIY menu with many options to choose from. Staff is always nice and courteous and they have a lot of seating as well. It is a bit pricey but you can tell that they use fresh and good quality ingredients. Today I got the fried chicken with fried onion strings, guacamole, jalapeí±o peppers and habanero sauce and it was the best thing ever (of course I wasn't able to finish it ). Def try this place out!!!

First time at the Counter as hubby was craving burgers, this didn't disappoint. I try to stay in my 5 mile driving radius in Houston, so a great Heights location right I'm Washington. We chose to build our own burger, but the Counter has a great selection of menu items, to include salads and gluten free buns to top your burger. pound after cooking sized burger with cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a number of sauces (the aioli is great); fries, shakes, really good stuff. That particular burger was $9.50 and the taste was perfecto. Good to go burger place in the Heights.

Absolutely disgusted with my experience at "the counter custom burgers." I ordered shoestring onion rings as a side with my burger, as I was eating I discovered something shiny and metal IN. MY. ONION RINGS!!!! Turns out it was a piece of metal!!! What would've happened if I accidentally swallowed that??? I told my waiter and he casually, nonchalantly, said "Oh that might be a piece of metal from the dish scrubber," and proceeded to do absolutely nothing about it and walk away. A piece of metal that was scrubbing food off of dishes... DISGUSTING. Never will I ever return to this restaurant, where a customer can almost swallow a piece of metal and NOTHING happen about it.

Literally sat at a table for 15 minutes without any service. They passed us twice and made eye contact but never said a word. Very disappointed. I was a repeat customer bringing someone new here. I won't be making that mistake again.

I'm very disappointed with the customer service here. I'm vegan. I was craving a vegan burger. I called, they had one i decided to try it. I also ordered a veggie sandwich. I added vegan cheese instead of the regular cheese. The cheese was horrible tasting. Ruined the whole sandwich. I took one bite n asked for it to be taken off of our 75.00 check. The guy working said the OWNER MELISSA said we couldn't remove it from our bill and had to pay for it because we CHANGED the sandwich. It was not vegan cheese. So i was basically punished for being vegan and the fact that i was told i HAD to pay for something i did not like is total b******** I will never come back here nor will my family and i will tell every vegan and friend i know about the behavior of the owner. No way to keep a business.

Good food, horrible service! Staff was friendly but inattentive. We went at a slow time, 2 pm on a Sunday. There were more tables with dirty dishes waiting to be bussed than there were tables occupied. We sat at the counter. There also were dirty dishes and closed tabs at several of the counter seats. There appeared to be two waitstaff working, neither of which had any hustle whatsoever. Doesn't matter how incredible the Incredible burger is (and it is really tasty!), this place will never survive in the busy Houston restaurant market - especially on Washington corridor - unless they severely step it up in service.

Foolishly returned after continuously declining service, but to introduce a friend to the Impossible Burger. Inexcusably horrible treatment of a fine product....burned miserably and a weird substitute for the specified pretzel bun. No satisfaction from server, so I took the time to contact corporate, as I wished I help them do a better job, especially as one of few who serve the Impossible Burger. Corporate failed to even respond....even after a month. There are so many other great burger choices....

A friend and I came here for lunch last month. Drove past it a couple of times before I figured out where it was exactly, and where to park. It's located in a block long complex of restaurants and there is a parking garage on the back side of the building. Very cool idea and it seemed to work. We arrived at 11am so there wasn't a problem finding parking in the ground level. Looking at the menu, you can build your own burger or pick a pre designed one. I went with the Bacon BBQ burger. It was good, the fries were really good (thin and crispy - as they should be). It's a nice place, staff was good. The price was a bit on the high side for a burger.

We went here for date night. Their burgers are flavorful. Their shakes are yum too. The service is quick but they shut by 9.

My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and she liked it a lot. I ordered my burger medium rare and it came out well done. The toppings and the garlic aioli were fresh and tasty. The burger not so much. And the service was frustrating. It was so slow that one couple left before they placed an order because the waiter took so long to even take a drink order. It wasn't that busy in terms of the number of customers. But the staff were really disorganized.

Been coming here sporatically for years. The food here has been consistent and very good. - Update 2018 - Beer selection is decent and choices on burgers is impressive. I've had some wonderful things here. And the service at the bar is always on point. Parking here even though it's on Washington Ave is very easy with the parking garage. Good hours and relaxing atmosphere are a plus too. Today I got the 1/2 with pimento on pretzel- fantastic. I'll have to venture out more often, j was pleased with my last meal here.
