This is easily the worst place I have eaten at in Houston. Not many places are deserving of the word “nasty” but this place IS. I should have just turned around and walked out when I opened the door and the smell hit me. Instead, I chose to give it a college try. I ordered something I usually get at other breakfast places and was in shock at what they brought me. It was awful. It didn’t look like what it was supposed to be. It didn’t taste like what it was supposed to be. I took a few hesitant bites and I just couldn’t do it. Of course, none of the staff bother to ask “Is everything okay,” or anything because they already KNOW and don’t care. There is nothing worse than paying full price for “food” at a restaurant and leaving with an empty stomach. I am so angry. $37 for nothing. I may not be able to get my money back, but you can save yours. Don’t come here.

We were traveling through Houston on our way to a cruise And looking for breakfast/brunch to start our day - part of the family wanted to go to Cracker Barrel because that’s all they know. Thankfully Cracker Barrel is always too slammed and would have taken hours just to get a table! So we went to Toasted Yolk as it was also nearby and thats where I wanted to go anyway!I put our name on the list and when we got there with our party of 14, we were seated pretty immediately. And it’s not like they were slow by any means, they were pretty busy but they made room and got us seated. When we got seated our waitress took our food and drink order and our food started coming out pretty quickly. We were all surprised.I got the crawfish omelette with a side pancake, my wife got the shrimp and grits, sister and her husband got the brisket tacos to share and the kids got numerous kids items.Everything was so tasty! Some real southern delicious food accompanied by some nice southern hospitality. My crawfish omelette was full of veggies jalapeños and crawfish. So good. The shrimp and grits was so flavorful, I think it was my favorite. Really tasty and a nice sized portion. The pancake was also really delicious and fluffy. We also got a Paloma which was nice and strong and really well made.Everything was tasty. The service was great. Everyone was a happy camper! Hard to do when there are 14 people haha.Don’t go to Cracker Barrel, make sure you go to Toasted Yolk Cafe!

After waiting 9 mins to be seated I seen two servers walk past and didn’t even acknowledge me ! Customer service isn’t in this place . The whole vibe was off mind you I only seen one couple eating , so I’m not sure what was going on … I arrived about 1.5 hr after they opened .

Terrible slow service. Took 15 min to get a server and took 10 mins to get coffee. The food is overpriced. Main course is better but the coffee cream not even using fresh dairy. Orange juice is not fresh and hot cocoa is mixed powder processed. Will not be coming back.

The Toasted Yolk Cafe left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance that set the tone for a delightful meal.I opted for the Brisket Scramble, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The combination of tender brisket and fluffy scrambled eggs was a match made in breakfast heaven. The jalapeños added just the right amount of heat, elevating the dish to another level of flavor. But the star of the show, in my opinion, was the hashbrown casserole. It was simply superb. Creamy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and packed with savory goodness. And taking the recommendation to add onions and jalapeños was a stroke of genius—it brought an extra layer of depth and complexity to an already outstanding dish.Overall, my experience at The Toasted Yolk Cafe was nothing short of fantastic. The friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and, most importantly, the delicious food, have made me a loyal fan. Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast or a satisfying brunch, The Toasted Yolk Cafe is a must-visit destination. Highly recommended!---I hope you like it!

Still celebrating my 55th birthday ?. So my daughter suggested we try the toasted yolk cafe off I-45 and Richey. Service was good, our waitress was nice. My eggs were hard scramble, pork chops were hard and after all that, my daughter found a hair in her food. Really!!. Waitress stated would show the manager. Who is yet to come out to speak to me about it. ?. I ask for his name which is Jose. Not worth paying money for bad food and poor management ?. Sooner or later it will rub off on nice employees like our waitress. From order # 111.
