Mhhhh. I want some more. Want to go back soon.
Meatball banh mi was pretty good. P2 liked it
Worst experience. Got to restaraunt at 1210. Sign stated wait to be seated. We waited 10 minutes as servers walked by and never acknowledged 7 people standing by sign. There were many open table still open and clean. Finally they told where to sit and we sat down. Never offered drinks and picked up our own menus. We waiting another 10minutes. No one ever came to take order. Went to counter and order two rice dishes to go. Never offered water or any acknowledgement. Placed order. Did not get food until over 30 minutes. Poor service. Acknowledge guest, hire more staff.

Ordered delicious banh xeo, again. Love it.
UPDATE: After pandemic the Bánh Xèo appears to have less meat and lots flour. Where’s the beef? Also, although they posted I never sure of the regular operating hours held. Call the restaurant to see if they are opened before you go. This restaurant tends to close randomly for vacation or holidays. Enjoy

I rarely ever leave any type of reviews. But i felt like they need to hear this.
I placed a Togo order. When I arrived to pickup. Paid what was owed and I also gave them a 15% tip. Before I left. I asked the gentleman if I can have ONE extra little thing of hot sauce paste. The guy says it’s .25c extra.
I looked at him and said. I just gave you a 15% tip ($5). And you are seriously asking me to take out my debit card and charge .25C? After I gave you almost $5 for putting my food in a bag?
He said…I’m sorry, that is the policy and walked off. I’d understand if I asked for 3-5 extra sauce. I asked for ONE!!!! I should have told you to take that .25C of the tip money I gave you and refund the rest. Never again will I dine at this pathetic place.

Thien An Sandwiches in Houston is a true hidden gem for Vietnamese cuisine lovers. This cozy spot serves up some of the best banh mi in the city—crispy baguettes filled with flavorful meats, fresh veggies, and the perfect balance of spices. Their pho is equally impressive, with a rich, aromatic broth that warms you from the inside out. Don’t miss out on their banh xeo, a crispy, savory Vietnamese crepe that’s simply irresistible. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, making it a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal without any fuss. If you're craving authentic Vietnamese flavors, Thien An Sandwiches is a must-visit!

Everything is so good and so fresh. This place is awesome.
EDIT 8/21/24:
Place seems to have taken a downturn. A/C on the fritz which in Houston (especially in August) is totally unacceptable. Takes forever to get seated. Then no one comes to take an order so I have to go up front to order. Never even brought a water. There is a “Now Hiring” sign on the front door so clearly they are understaffed. I hate this and hate to leave a bad review for this place because it’s one of my favorites but if they are not equipped to be fully operational anymore there are just too many good choices in Houston for me to deal with that again. Too bad.

My go to for Vietnamese food if I can’t get to Chinatown/Bellaire. This iconic sandwich shop/restaurant is quick and the authentic food is on par. All the Banh Mi come out toasted and generously packed with the fixings. The banh xeo or Vietnamese crepe is always good here. Don’t miss out on the duck salad or goi vit! So fresh and appetizing! Their egg rolls are one of my favorites.

excellent spot for lunch. just outside of downtown with plenty of parking. reasonable prices, exceptional food. good service too. highly recommend. i eat there with a group of coworkers at least a couple times a month, everything is always delicious (love the mi wonton soup - and yes, i know that's not Vietnamese). good banh mi. all the pho and soups are exceptional

Service was ok...food , there was no flavor to the meat ( this was based on my taste and experience). Not sure why it was brags by some people....or maybe it's conveniently located. I ordered banh thit but was was dried and chewy.
I love the fried egg banhmi, perfect for Sunday mornings and their Bo Bun Hue, not too spicy but perfect amount of umami. Can't go wrong with the fried eggrolls and their banh xeo. It's alll soooo yum!
