The first time I visited, I had a Bahn mi, and it was average. The baguettes excellent. The atmosphere was a little crusty. Prices looked good.I will have to try this place a couple of more times before I can form an opinion.I would recommend trying it at least once and form your own opinion.

The most important and consistent Pho and Banh Mi place in Houston. The food is always fresh and delicious, not overpriced and fast polite service. It’s soup and sandwiches at the end of the day that is everywhere, but since everyone is looking for authentic places this place stands

I got the dac biet (special combination) banh-mi to go and as a native Vietnamese, I have to say that it was the worst sandwich I had ever tasted. It lacked any of the traditional flavors and I couldn't even say that it had authentic ingredients that are supposed to be in that sandwich. I may give them another chance and order something different next time but based on the sandwich, I'm not optimistic that anything else will be authentic either. This experience makes me miss Les Givral's so much!

Thien An Sandwiches has solidified its place as my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town. Over my decade-long career as a food channel host, I've explored numerous traditional Vietnamese establishments in Houston, but Thien A stands out with its unique offerings. The Vietnamese-style pancake with seafood is an absolute delight, a must-have that keeps me coming back to downtown whenever the craving strikes. It's unparalleled in size, quality, and affordability.Their ? duck salad featuring farm-fresh ingredients is a recent discovery, and the distinct texture and flavor of the meat make it a standout dish. The eggrolls are a crispy delight, perfectly balanced with a thin batter that enhances the overall experience. The beef combination is bursting with flavor, showcasing their commitment to quality. Not to be overlooked is their passionfruit tea, boasting an intense flavor that never fails to impress. Thien An Sandwiches consistently exceeds expectations, making it one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in downtown Houston, if not the entire city. I wholeheartedly recommend it and look forward to returning again and again. Bravo to Thien An for delivering an exceptional dining experience!

A very solid Vietnamese food. Not an extensive menu but what they have is good. Visiting from Virginia and was cool to see pho, with banh mi which is common, but less commonly Banh cuon (the thin rice crepe) and banh xeo (the crispy pancake). We came on Presidents day monday and it was very busy which is great for them. Clean but basic decor and a lot of tables inside. Food came out relatively fast. Pay at counter. There is also a very cool mural in the parking lot.

Great Bahn Mi. The pricing is very affordable for the quality of the sandwiches coming out of here. I haven't tried much else yet, but when I do I will probably write another 5 star review.

We were out of state and wanted to try Houston's famous banh mi places and found some reviews recommending this place. We ordered the cold cut thit banh mi and the grilled pork think nuong bang mi. The baguette was well toasted and crunchy without being too dry, however, the meat was bland. This is marinated pork, it needs to soak with lots of flavor, but I didn't find any. The cold cut one lacked taste also. The people that worked there seem nice and service was quick, hence the three star. We didn't try the other food so can't comment on it.

So good. The banh mi is awesome. The place is packed at lunch but service is so fast. Everyone is so nice. The Cha Giò is fantastic as well. Would recommend!

This is legit Vietnamese food. The space is huge. Service was actually great for an Asian restaurant. The banh xeo is ginormous. The banh cuon, pho and bun bo hue were all very flavorful. We didn’t have a bad dish at all. All the portions are so large. We had a lot of leftover. The prices are very reasonable too. The food came out SO quickly. Plenty of parking available. I came back a week later and will be back again. My only complaint are the napkins. They are the worst napkins any restaurant can have. They’re so thin and small it takes about 5 napkins for 1 wipe.
