Truluck's - Ocean's Finest Seafood & Crab

Haylie was an attentive waitress - we appreciated her. The Manager stopped by our table and asked if we needed anything...nice touch.

We went to Truluck's Houston to celebrate my wife's birthday and everyone did their best to make it a memorable experience from the lady who greeted us to Rick, our server. Rick provided impeccable service. He was attentive but did not hover. He kept a careful eye on our glasses and made sure we were never thirsty. We both ordered the Little Gem Ceasar salad and my wife said that was the best Ceasar dressing she had tasted. I concurr. Our entrees were both delicious. She ordered the filet mignon, 8oz., and ordered it to be cooked medium. It came out pefectly prepared - the right shad of pink slipping into a darker shade. The Texas Redfish Pontchatrain that I had was a flavorful dish with shrimp and crayfish. Truluck's provided us with a complementary Baked Alaska which we both enjoyed. It was very kind of Truluck's to do that as we did not expect that thoughtful touch. My wife and I both look forward to returning.

It has been awhile since we had been back to Truluck's and it was as good as it has always been. Great food and better service from Juan.

Stone crab claws and king crab were definitely frozen. Otherwise, just an okay experience for the price of an exceptional experience.

Everything was absolutely divine ! I love the plant-based bolognese pasta & the creamed spinach. The cappuccino with a mini almond cookie was the star of my dessert! I also greatly enjoyed the carrot cake, it was superb!

It was a date night for my birthday. The ambience was incredible. The food was excellent although I wish they would offer more than mashed potatoes with their dishes. And the baked Alaskan was out of this world. It was definitely an amazing experience for a special day.

The food and service were excellent as usual, but the restaurant is noisier than before the renovation.

Overall, we really liked Truluck's. That said, we found the crab claws a bit too precious for the price and likely would not order again. No matter how big the claw was, I could not get a decent bite and we ordered the jumbo size! We also found the music a bit too loud and annoying. The good news is our other menu items we really liked and that includes the simply prepared Chilean sea bass with creamed spinach and the wonderful lobster roll. The crab fried rice was also tasty and delightful. To top everything off, we ordered the baked Alaska, which was very satisfying. Overall, we liked Truluck's and are anxious to explore its other menu items. BTW, we loved how gorgeous this restaurant is. Makes a great date night place for us.

My wife and I had the salmon and filet and both were cooked to perfection. Zach greeted us with a smile and was very courteous and helpful. Both the valet and hostess greeted us with a welcoming smile and comments.

We have attended happy hour at Truluck's for over 25 years. We were very disappointed that they changed the menu. We went ahead and ordered drinks and food. The food was the worst (HOT HONEY CHICKEN BITES & HOT & CRUNCHY SHRIMP). The shrimp breading was so crunchy it had a burnt taste to it and the chicken had no taste. This is not what we expected from such a high end place such as this. We also missed the live music. It is just not the same.

I love how Jason was so prompt and act accordingly. I watched him cater to guess’s and co- workers. As I successfully own business owner in Houston, I highly recommend Jasons’s service. I will spread the word come see Jason at Truluck. Can’t wait to go back soon.

This place is always a pleaser. I've been to the one in Dallas, TX; Washington, DC; and now this one in Houston, TX. It never fails me. The food, the service, atmosphere, everything is always top of the line. The ambiance is so nice and the staff are welcoming, polite and extremely professional. Also they do this cool thing with a dessert for birthdays. It's lit.....literally! If you haven't been to any of their locations, it is a must do.

Great place and good food, but due to limitations of their reservation system, the table we had (7 people) was way too small.
