Wow! Great tacos and chips! The assortment of dips was what it sets it apart. But most importantly, I must commend the staff and great service especially from the cashier. I didn’t get his name but he worked the night shift on 08/31/25 ( 10:30pm ) I’m definitely coming back !

After shopping at Memorial City Mall, my boyfriend and I decided to try out Velvet Taco because we were intrigued by their unique taco combinations. We both ordered the “say what” combo which consisted of two tacos, side dish, and fountain beverage.
♡ Chicken and Waffle Taco. 6/10! This was just a-okay. The chicken tender was big, crispy, and delicious. I do wish that there was a bit more maple syrup covering the chicken. Waffle tacos weren’t anything special. Still interesting though!
♡ Grilled Salmon Taco. 7/10! I wanted to try out a sea taco, and I chose this one cos I love fish. It was pretty good! I do wish that there was more salmon though. I felt like the taco had like 25% salmon and 75% of everything else. It could just be my taste bud, but I didn’t really taste that much fish.
♡ Queso Blanco w/ Chips. 6/10! The queso is good and thick in consistency, but nothing special in my opinion. I did like the blue chips though!
♡ Buffalo Chicken Taco. 8/10! Boyfriend liked the buffalo sauce, and it had the right amount of heat and flavor. However, he wished that there was more chicken in his taco.
♡ Chimichurri Steak Taco. 6/10! Boyfriend didn’t like this taco as much. The meat was very chewy, and he said that it was not as flavorful he’d like. Also, the meat kept falling out of his taco, so it was very messy to eat. He would not order this one again.
♡ Elote and Chips. 6/10! Boyfriend said it was okay, nothing great. He said he mostly tasted sweet corn and nothing else.
♡ Red Velvet Cake. 7/10! The cake was good, but not great. The cake is good for what it is. The cajeta gives it a unique twist, but it didn’t really elevate the flavor.

I've never had a bad experience at velvet taco until today. I asked this worker to put the green sauce on my bowl after I ordered, my bad. When I got my order it looked liked someone had dug out my bowl. I told the gentleman that I couldn't take this to my significant other. He instantly got mad and spoke a few harsh words and threw the bowls away like he was fighting mad. I told him that's OK and told google to give me velvet tacos corporate number. All of a sudden it was just miscommunication. I got the new bowls only to find out the shrimp were burnt. I'm not going to let this one guy ruin my velvet taco addiction, but he's a black spot on this organization.

Went to the memorial city location on Friday 8/22/2025 for the first time. The cashier, Nikolas D., was not welcoming whatsoever. He acted as if we were inconveniencing him. He did not greet us or ask us what we were getting, we just told him what we wanted. I asked to get brisket nachos, then changed my mind and asked to get two queso’s. He said you’ll get them only if you order to go. I’m like okay we’re ordering takeout anyways. I was somewhat confused on his comment. He didn’t thank us or anything. Prior to that when we were waiting in line he was like that with the previous customers, he was so moody. His attitude definitely tampered this outing at Velvet Taco with my family.
Also, don’t ask to contact you or send an email because I did on 8/23 and have yet to hear back.

I loved the tacos here! The brisket taco was my favorite — packed with flavor and really satisfying. They’ve got a great variety overall, so you can’t go wrong. Even if there’s a crowd, don’t get discouraged, the line moves quickly and the whole place runs super smooth. Totally worth a stop!

Had the chicken tacos and chicken bowl. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-portioned. In additon, the red velvet cake was moist and delicious. I prefer cream cheese icing but delicious nonetheless.
