Service was on point, and the food was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu.

Came here for the Houston Food week and ordered the Dr. Pepper chocolate cake, and it neither tasted like Dr. Pepper nor chocolate, so that was a little disappointing. Also, no frozen margaritas were available as their machine was currently broken.. Otherwise, the rest of the food was delicious. We had the chili bowl, the peppered cheese, the chicken fried steak, armadillo eggs, the fish poboy, the tres leches cake, and the Dr. Pepper Chocolate cake. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star on service was because our servers' hands were very dirty when serving our food. It looked like she had just come from playing outside in the dirt. She had dirt underneath all of her nails. She was grungy looking and looked like she hadn't brushed her teeth in a couple of days. Appearance for the presentation of food was a little disgusting. She was polite but looked unhygienic. If she had been outside gathering our food, that would've been one thing, but knowing someone else was cooking it and all she was doing was serving it, that's another thing. Hopefully, once they move to their new location, they will have better presenting staff to go with their food.

We went for my husband's birthday. What a huge disappointment. Our food took forever to arrive. When it finally arrived it was over cooked and over salted to the point of inedible. Myself and several other patrons had to go get someone for refills on drinks, checks, ect. The manager did acknowledge they were having a bad day but we drove 2 hrs just to go there for lunch. We will not be returning.

Went there first time for restaurant weeks, had the armadillo egg (not bad!), half order Wagyu chicken fried steak. Sides were excellent (green beans and mashed potatoes) but the CFS was a great disappointment---very thin, over cooked, dry and.....tough. Come on Chris!

Came here on a Friday night during restaurant week and made reservations at 630, and at 730 our entrees were still not brought out yet, so then I asked if we could get our food to go, and they said of course, we will be right out.. 15 minutes later, they come for me to pay the bill, and I ask, is my food ready yet? Waiter says let me go check, then comes back and tells me they won't charge me but they are just not working on it.. I felt bad for this poor waiter because he was like one of two waiters working the whole place. I appreciated the meal being comped which was over $100 but really thought the manager who was standing by the kitchen should have came over and apologized or at least tell me why instead of sending the waiter with the bad news. So after a 90 minute wait, we finally got over dinner and ended up being to go. Was very disappointed in the customer service, food was good, but not great. Management needs to step up instead of letting the waiter take the bullet..

My friends and I came for Houston Restaurants Weeks. Their menu was amazing. I had the armadillo egg, chicken fried steak, and Dr. Pepper chocolate cake. Everything was delicious. Our waitor was extremely attentive and was a welcoming presence. The decor is light and has fun accents. We will be back throughout the year.

Really nice place. Had the CFS and it was certainly tasty. I had seen this reviewed on a TV Show as one of the best in Texas - not so sure about that but it was good. My friend had the fish and the waiter told her to be aware of scales! Can’t believe they were not already removed so she was scared of inadvertently eating a scale. Also the seats weren’t so comfy. But all in all I recommend at least trying it. We went a week day and no trouble being seated.

This place is phenomenal! The staff was so friendly and attentive. The manager Cathy was the best, she checked on my family and I throughout our entire time there. The bartender Joe did an awesome job making our drinks! Great place overall and I’ll definitely be back for that chicken fried chicken !!

I was a little bit excited to take my friend to this restaurant. Found it randomly on a Google search. The photos & reviews were mostly good, so we gave it a shot. I wasn't completely disappointed, but I left feeling hungry & finessed. Shrimp & Grits, Selena Margarita, while my friend ordered a Jack & Coke & the half chicken. Our bill came out to a $110?...I will say the food & drinks were good but damn?
Wheelchair accessibility: Somewhat difficult for those in wheelchairs, restaurants a bit tight

First time here. Food was OK but quantity for the price was a little low - they're definitely about presentation. Armadillo Egg appetizer had good flavor but were warm at best, definitely not hot, like they'd been sitting out for a bit before bringing them to us. Also, even though there seemed to be plenty of waitstaff, the service was spotty at best. Additionally, they were out of a lot of items, including their Sunday special for Father's Day.

Our first time! We ordered the much talked about Chicken-Fried-Steak. Sorry to say, not worth the hype. It was way over cooked and salty. The mashed potatoes were the best part of the meal with the jalapeño gravy, delicious! However, the green beans had a sweet taste which was not enjoyable. No bread given unless extra was paid. Not sure I will return.

Good food. Misses the price point of the atmosphere. The menu is too high of a price for where it is and what it is. We ordered the steak tartare and quesadilla. The steak tartare was good had an acidity to it. The fried saltines were a good touch. The quesadilla was good. Saucy and delicious. We also got margaritas that were strong enough, but not over powering or sweet. I took stars away for the prices on the the items for the place they are at

What a great refined southern food experience! The decorations reminded me of an elevated version of visiting my great-grandmother's house. The staff is exceptionally friendly and very helpful when it comes to food sensitivities. You can tell the chef really enjoys seeing guests enjoy all the delicious creations.I enjoyed everything I tasted, but the pepper jelly combined with the whipped-in-house Ricotta was by far my favorite! It was also a nice surprise to be able to enjoy the potato chicharron!I can't recommend this place enough!
