Best place in Riverside and the crawfish is off the chain very rustic.

I live in the area and was told by many to try it and how good it was. I beg to differ, although it wasn't terrible it wasn't great either. they shouldn't be calling it Cajun because it's flavorless, not spicy at all. The shrimp and cheese eggrolls I heard so much about were just egg roll wrapper fried in grease. i for one will not be going in again.

I havent ever been disappointed in the food that i have gotten frim here. It is good food and it doesnt sit under a heating lamp for hours as its cooked to order. My food has always been fresh (even if frozen prior) and tasty. If i had one complaint it would be the prices compared to the portions. Some suggestions to the owner/owners would be invest in an actual soda dispenser. Also reannalyze the area to determine the prices of the food. Riverside is by no means a high class area. Prices should be adjusted to reflect that. Find a way to advertise other than just facebook. This is a major highway and you are very unnoticeable along this strip. Make yourself noticeable to help catch peoples attention. If you arent willing to adjust prices then look into possibly making the food fresh instead of just buying frozen products. Overall you have a good thing here. It just needs some more bang for the buck.

We just had a fabulous lunch of fried shrimp and fish. They even treated us to their dessert bites! The food is delicious and service outstanding!

I have hesitated writing a review because I felt the place deserved time to figure out how to address their issues. I check often and I see little that has changed so I might as well go ahead and leave my review. My daughter wanted to treat me to a special 68th birthday lunch and knowing I love good Cajun food, she took me here. They have done minor changes to their menu since then but at the time I was there, June 11th, I ordered the Cajun Tater; a fully loaded baked potato that included sausage. I was excited! When we ordered I mentioned how nice it would be to get andouille on the potato. The girl behind the counter told me they didn't have andouille - they had smoked sausage.! (I should have taken that as a red flag.) I really wanted to tell my daughter we should try the Taco place instead but she was so proud to be giving me a Cajun meal on my special day. I told the girl how disappointed I was they didn't have real Cajun sausage but, we ordered anyway and sat down.As a treat, my daughter asked if I'd like a margarita so I asked for a list of flavors and chose my favorite - strawberry. When they brought it, I was told they ran out of strawberry so I was getting mango. I don't care for mango but, once again, my daughter was killing herself to please me so I just smiled. When my Cajun Tater arrived, it was more like a "tater float" as it was floating in a disposable trough filled with tons of what they billed as Cajun butter. Guess what... it was far from Cajun and a good half cup more butter than was needed. I ate about a 3rd and then told my daughter I was taking the rest home for the dogs. But first I poured off most of the "Cajun butter" so my dogs didn't get digestive challenges when they ate it later that night. Also, I didn't want to pour it off at home because I was afraid that much greasy butter going into my septic system was probably not a good idea. My daughter must have mentioned it was my birthday because a fried cheese cake roll-up was handed to me wrapped in several layers of paper towel. Good thing. Not only was it fried, but it was also filled with their Cajun butter. I ate 3 bites and put the rest in my doggy bag.I didn't know it at the time, but they gave diners a bill for their food when they ordered asking for the amount of tip to add to their credit card. She tipped, but had we known the food was over-priced, sub-standard, served by less that friendly staff and covered in odd tasting butter, we never would have tipped. I garr-un-tee.In summation, should someone say to you, "how would you like to try that Cajun place on SH19 in Riverside for dinner tonight?" Run, don't walk to the nearest taco stand instead. You'll be glad you did.
