I have gone here a few time with a friend and I love their food. I just Don’t like the fact that they charge $10 cork fee (if you take your own wine).

***PLEASE NOTE - this review is based on pre-pandemic visits. We haven't visited since the coronavirus spread to the United States for safety reasons, as we are immuno-compromised. When we can visit next, I'll either edit this review to reflect my feelings on their safety or at least take another look at their cuisine. I do not expect to be disappointed. Thank you very much for your understanding!***Hanaki is a restaurant that someone who loves Japanese cuisine and atmosphere should visit, in my opinion. The food is excellent, the staff is attentive and polite - dare I say kind? -, the atmosphere is calming and cosy, the food is excellent - did I mention that the food is excellent? The establishment is quite clean, in good condition, and the staff themselves are just awesome. I point this out only to try to be as complete as I can be.We've asked them occasionally about culture and they've been free, even happy, to share. I feel that sharing like that is essential so that we can all learn about other cultures and expand our horizons. Food is a visceral experience - it speaks to us at an instinctual level first, then we give it thought. It is a great way to introduce one of many pillars of each country and people.Anyway, we've visited for takeaway as well and considering how busy they were they got our food to us pretty quickly.I do have a suggestion - I'm not sure if there's a way, but we did feel a bit TOO cozy waiting for our takeaway. If Hanaki could work out a way to allow more space for seating, once restaurants can more safely open, at least we would appreciate it.They earned the stars easily, in my opinion. They'll need to do something almost profane to keep us from visiting again ^_^

Been coming here for almost a Decade. I'm familiar with the staff and the menu. I have tried several japanese joints but this has always stood out for me. Unfortunately lately it seems the doors haven't opened and I'm growing concerned. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it.mi'ka I hope you and your staff are doing wellSincerely,Jess & David

Dined in once about a month ago. Was fantastic. Quickly followed up less than a week later. Was not disappointed.Very consistent between the two meals. Excited to return again. The grilled sardine I can't get off my mind convinced me to write this review.

This is a small Mom and Pop place. They don't have many servers so expect a bit of a wait when you go. If you're in a hurry for time, order ahead so your food will be ready when you get there. This is my go to place for a great bento box. Chicken Teriyaki has great charred taste. Fish is always fresh. They have daily lunch specials except on Fridays and weekends. I highly recommend!! You won't be disappointed!

I hadn't gone here for some time, but was craving some sushi and wasn't disappointed. Called the order in and picked up. Ready on time, and delicious! Posting the one page menu they gave me when I picked up. Hope it will help someone else.

A real hidden gem! When my friend first showed me the place, I hadn't even heard of the Hanaki but I was missing out! The food was flavorful, the wait time was minimal even with only two ppl working. It's a cozy little joint, and the staff is courteous and professional.

First time here! The service is very good. First impression is that the restaurant is clean. Music playing (80s rock?) was alittle out of place with the restaurant. Takeout was packaged very nicely, teriyaki chicken had a very satisfying Smokey flavor and didn't taste from the bottle, but portioning was on the smaller side for the price point. Sunshine roll was our favorite and soba noodle broth is very light and tasty! Though I think next time I will order chicken karage and the desert over the volcano roll and noodles :) support your small family businesses!

Nice little hole in the wall restaurant with great food at a decent price. The lunch specials give you a ton of food too. They dont have their menu anywhere online so I attached them as photos.

A nice simple Japanese restaurant. Is ran by Japanese and everyone working there is too so enough said. Their prices are good, portions are not the biggest but great to get a few things to share with each other. I really liked their curry pork and their sashimi is decent quality as well. The staff there are really nice and always make sure you have everything you need. Nothing really over the top a nice simple restaurant with good food and good prices. If you're looking for no frills authentic Japanese food this is your spot!

Excellent service, and great food. I had takeout from them during the pandemic, and hopefully I can dine in once this is over.

Thank you for keeping carry-out available during this stressful time. Seeing our Friday night family while picking up comfort food is reassuring. Everything was delicious! See you next week!
