What a great experience! Shorty and his daughter were so awesome and extremely friendly! The food was divine, it came out as fast as we came in and sat down and ordered. I couldn't have asked for better service and food! I highly suggest Mama's Fav #2, it was scrumptious!!! The French toast and bacon was absolutely out of this world!!! Definitely a spot to dine and enjoy!

First off, The sign is faded, so it was hard to find. Was my first time. It wasn't busy like i anticipated for a small mom and pop diner. The food was, "meh" at best. The biscuits and gravy looked and tasted store bought. The biscuit was slighty burned on the bottom and you could definately taste it. My meat lover scramble was okay but not great. The server, an older lady, was not very personable. Didnt check on me to see how the food was. The only thing that would probably bring me back is the prices of the food. I could have easily spent a few bucks more elsewhere.

When I am in Irving early I tend to visit shortys. They open early and the food is fresh. Honestly the food can be hit or miss. Last time I went the chicken fried steak was over cooked and the biscuits were not fresh. My daughter loves their biscuits and gravy.

My wife and I did not feel welcomed there at all! We are Hispanic, and when we walked in, EVERYONE stopped to stare at us. It took 25 min for the redhead waitress (Heather) to offer us drinks. Instead of taking our order, she left to give all the white people toast and butter while we did not get any toast butter or even sugar for our coffee. We will not be going back, so we left. Racism is alive and well here! To make things worse, there were flies EVERYWHERE see for yourselves.

Great breakfast and hospitality! Ended up at Shorty's because our regular go to was closed on Black Friday. Realized that we've been missing out! Chicken fried steak breakfast was great and Shorty went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We'll definitely be back!

We ate here for the first time yesterday, and I guarantee it’ll be far from our last visit. My mom ordered eggs, sausage, hash browns, and French toast. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla and French fries.Both of our meals were hot, fresh, delicious, and cooked to order in a timely manner. I highly recommend Shorty’s, and while it was only our first visit, I think we’ve found one of our new favorite diners in Irving.
