The food is good but I think everyone who comes here would agree that sometimes nostalgia and tradition are just as important. The live music is usually pretty good and if you ride a bike to Jefferson, it's just a stop you have to make.
We went to Auntie Skinner’s about 2 pm on a Thursday. I had a hand breaded Chicken Fried Steak with White Gravy, sautéed Cabbage, side salad, and Texas Toast. Absolutely amazing!!! My husband had Chicken Fried Chicken and White Gravy, real mashed potatoes, fried okra, and Texas Toast. Scrumptious. Great food and service was fine. On the downside, this is a bar.
