Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant

Food was, at best, sub par. We had cheese enchiladas, a inside out quesadilla and stacked enchiladas. Enchiladas were average tasting, beans on all plates had a sour taste to them. Inside out quesadilla had maybe 1/2 cup of meat only in the middle otherwise just a tortilla with cheese on top. Had queso and guacamole as well. Queso was not that great, pretty runny. Guacamole was the best out of all of it. Will not go again.

My dining experience at Abuelo's was outstanding! The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely wonderful, each dish prepared to perfection. We started with the bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp appetizer, which was simply amazing and bursting with flavor. The Chicken Tampiqueña was delicious beyond words, expertly cooked and beautifully presented. The Ranch Water cocktail was refreshing and well-crafted, and the Old Fashioned had that perfect, classic taste. The enchiladas were also a standout, especially with the creamy green sauce that added the perfect finishing touch. Abuelo's is truly a gem for anyone craving exceptional Mexican cuisine. Can't wait to go back!

Yolanda made our visit to Abuelo’s truly special! Right from the start, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel as though we were part of the family. Her friendly, polite, and quick service was fantastic. She got every detail of our order right, kept our drinks filled, and made sure we always had chips and salsa. Yolanda was attentive and always available if we needed anything, creating such a comfortable atmosphere. If every restaurant had servers like her, dining out would be a perfect experience every time. Thank you, Yolanda, for your wonderful hospitality!

If the parking lot is EMPTY...it's a sign that the food isn't good! DO NOT GO IN! I'm Mexican and i love all Mexican food! This was my 2nd time here Sunday 9/22/24. The cook must have quit because everything seemed like it was from the can! Nacho cheese from the can, beans from the can, store bought fake tortillas, salsa was gross, my fajita quesadilla had old refrigerator tasting shredded brisket in it! My daughter-in-law fajita tacos that were gross! Looked and tasted like canned dog food in her tacos! My bill was almost $100! Only thing was good was the alcohol mixed drinks but it had no alcohol!!! Lol. Took food home to the dogs and the dogs wouldn't even eat it!!!

When we first came we had a good experience. But unfortunately Everytime we come back it gets worse. When we went this last time it wasn’t that busy at all and we waited forever for drinks, and to order our food. Then when we were done we waited twenty five minutes for our check after asking for it. I get if they were busy… But there was like three tables with people. No one sitting at the bar. It just didn’t make sense why everything was taking so long and barely any other customers. Our food was cold and not that good. The drinks took so long to get to us and weren’t that good. The bartender looked pissed when we ordered a drink like it was inconveniencing him but again no one was sitting at the bar.

Just recovered from food poisoning about a week ago and wanted to recover with some extraordinary Tex-Mex. Yupp, it does seem like they changed cooks. Can't even cook a damn steak right. Every time I come here, I ask for a ribeye medium rare. Either it comes out blue or medium well. And there's hardly a crust on it. Whoever is cooking the steaks needs to be educated on how to sear meat. I remember during the past summer how extraordinary the steaks were. Now they are garbage. I wonder who replaced the OG cook? Did he retire?

This is a chain (I didn't know prior) and a bit different than your standard Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa are served quickly with four(!) variations of salsa — mild tomato rojo, robust roho, habanero rojo (not hot to me at all) and pineapple verde — which were tasty but really tame overall. The main course was an enchilada duet of beef and spinach and I was really surprised at what I got; the beef enchilada had no sauce on the inside but plenty of chili sauce on the outside which made it somewhat dry but not terrible. The spinach enchilada was served with scant cream on the inside and, unexpectedly, a tomato-based bell pepper and onion sauce on the outside — not bad but a big surprise overall because I had expected a cream sauce throughout. The sides of Mexican rice and charro beans were decent but nondescript. If you want something different and somewhat reliable, this is the place for you. I might come back but only for that reason. Note, however, the servers were very attentive and polite so no points against them at all!

Ok where do I begin? Let’s start with the food. Not only is the food delicious!! The atmosphere is great but the service is top tier ?? the manager is awesome but I have to admit Cameron H. Hands down is the reason for my back to back visits in the same week, I brought my friends there and not only did they love the food as well but they also said Cameron is absolutely awesome ? he goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. My friends exact words were “wow it’s nice to actually get great service at a restaurant” Thank you! And I can’t forget Kevin I met him once and he was absolutely great :)
