Black Bear Diner Reviews
A long anticipated visit for a late lunch (1:55 PM)at the ElPaso location started out with being told it would be a ten minute wait that ended up being a 23 minute wait for a table for 5 (3 adults and 2 children). Did I mention that it wasn’t terribly busy? It wasn’t. We ended up being seated at a table that was empty when we walked in. No worries we were anticipating a great meal. Got drinks and food ordered and waited so long that I had to get up and go outside to get...read full review
We went for the first time to the Diner, and it was really bad experience. The staff was just floating around and not bother to stop and serve us, we waited for 10 minutes and no-one even stopped to take a drink order. So, we left to the better establishment.
This place has what I can only describe as big portion confidence. The food was solid, the diner vibe was fun, and it is very much the kind of place where you accidentally order enough for two meals and then act surprised when it arrives. Comfortable, easygoing, and a good pick for breakfast or comfort food. Go hungry and with emotional readiness for the plate size.

Black Bear Diner Katy offers a lovely dining experience with great food, service, and atmosphere. The servers take good care of customers. The Stuffed Blackberries French Toast is a must-try item on the menu. The food is always delicious and served quickly, making it a reliable spot for breakfast and brunch. The orange juice is the best, with fresh squeezed options available. The eggs Benedict and potatoes are perfectly prepared, and the coffee is strong and regularly refilled. The service may be slower during less busy times, but the manager and staff work hard to provide a great experience. Despite a recent kitchen fire, the restaurant continues to serve tasty food like pot roast and pot pie. Customers love most of the food, but some have noted issues with the gravy and the temperature inside the restaurant being too hot. Overall, Black Bear Diner Katy offers a rustic atmosphere and a generally great dining experience.
