I really like that place! I come here everytime when being in Houston. Hard to explain why, but probably it's the really good and fresh food, mixed up with the simple style of the diner. You just go there, sit down at the bar, and enjoy your food. Staff is very friendly and quick. Parking and waiting time for a seat strongly depends on the time. Though just fully recommended by me!
Go for the fresh oysters and a big bowl of Gumbo!

Went to Captain Tom’s for dinner 1/27. Went around 6pm, plenty of open seating. Def not a place you go to have conversation with more than whoever is sitting right next to you. All bar seating, no tables. Very loud. Service was AMAZING. Very friendly, attentive, plenty of staff. Food was OK. Oysters were outstanding! Fried catfish was decent, but full of bones. Gumbo was average. Cool “boat shaped” restaurant, average seafood.
