The spacious interior of this restaurant makes it suitable for both small gatherings and larger parties. However, it's worth noting that the servers speak very little English, and the wait can be lengthy. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including the mapo tofu, which is expertly prepared with a perfect balance of spiciness and numbing Sichuan peppercorns. The silky tofu absorbs the rich, flavorful sauce beautifully. Another popular dish is the gingered cucumber, a refreshing and light appetizer or side dish. The braised pork is also a must-try, tender and succulent, with a savory sauce that enhances its rich flavor. Additionally, the shrimp fried noodles and lamb toothpick bites are extremely flavorful, with a balance of spice and non-overpowering taste. The smoked bacon with bamboo is another standout dish, flavorful and spicy with a mix of veggies. Despite the slow service, the quality of the food and the comfortable setting make Taste of China well worth a visit.
