I ordered from Uber eats. I think this is the biggest waste of 32 dollars and 2024 purchases. Im sure the Oxtails are Oldddd.. no meat, no flavor.. the meat was shriveled up indicating old… gave me a bunch of rice with no juice.. the cabbage was so dry.. I believe it needed to be steamed longer.. just freakin terrible!! I’m in the process of moving and I had to sit down and tell how bad the food is and how there is no way this place takes pride in the food they serve !!! Zero stars! Oh do you see this plantain.. dry would be an understatement. The inside crumbled when I bit it… howwwww?? I’m sure I will be sick tomorrow

I came here because Little Jamaica was closed and its a big difference. Ava Rice and Peas is better however the amount of Jerk Chicken we got for a large was very small (looked like a thigh cut in 3 pieces). Usually we have enough left over for my husband to take for lunch. The chicken itself didn't have any sauce or juice on it so maybe it was a dry rub which was sweet not much heat. This was just my experience, I hope you all have a better experience and looking at the reviews must people have. The lady was fun.

Come on… this ain’t no Caribbean food. Don’t disrespect Caribbean food like that. Just change the name to Ana’s diner or something. There is absolutely nothing Caribbean about that food. The rice was mushy and overcooked. The curry goat was salty and needed more curry. Tasted like some box gravy. Horrible. Literally the worst I’ve ever tasted.

I have been a longtime patron of Ava’s Caribbean restaurant. I found the food I received tonight to be very disappointing. I ordered three large oxtail plates and received something more like three small oxtail plates. Even my kid said where’s the meat. Each plate had four oxtails. I have never received a plate this small before. Ava’s has lost a customer. The plate that is used in the picture is a saucer. It is not even a dinner plate. the food container is that small.

Doesn't matter if you spend 15 or 50 dollars like I did you expect to get what you pay for, well that was not the case today. Ava's has been alright in the past, but today it was so bad I'll never spend another dollar keeping them in business. The Oxtail was the worst I've ever had, it wasn't even cooked thoroughly. The rice was crunchy and the cabbage might as well of been raw. Unacceptable and to anyone that writes a review saying Ava's Caribbean food is 5star...........STOP LYING!!!!!!!!!

The food has great flavor, and the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. I’m giving it a 4, for the reason that it’s not my cup of tea, but the quality was great. Meat was falling off the bone, and food was flavorful.

"Apparently" the online service wasn't working and they had no oxtails ready. The time was 1:19pm. They didn't have my order ready until 4:00pm. The only reason I came back for my order is because I ordered online and it would take 7-10 days to get my refund. Once I received my order(pictured) it should speak for itself. The oxtails had no flavor, they didn't give me the rice and peas, or yellow rice I ordered. The white rice and cabbage were undercooked. I was 100% disappointed and will never visit, nor recommend this restaurant to anyone. Customer service was no better. The man at the register made it seem like I was an inconvenience to be in the store and I shouldn't have ordered online.

Very weird experience. The guy packed my food and seemed mad while doing it. The plantains were so dry and old I told him I didn't want any. The oxtail gravy is NOT gravy, its water! Food is not fresh at all! He took my food to the kitchen and came back and packed it up so I have no idea what he did to it. I asked him of he was ok and he said he just going through somethings and started talking about the the state of the world. I paid and tipped and left. It smelled a little and the kitchen looked dirty. Won't try this place again. Waste of 40 bucks

Called ahead to ask if ox tails were available, I was told yes come on we have them. I asked if I could do a phone order & was told no need because we have them. I live 10min away. When I arrive I was told they were closed & I arrived at 8:37pm. It was a waste of a trip for me. Definitely not how you’re suppose to do business.

The ox tails were fine but the rice and peas was very undercooked so were the plantains. The lady took about 10 mins to take our order and they didn’t even have cabbage ready to serve which we ended up not getting.
