We haven’t been to HooknReel for a few years now but came in today since finding out they have raw oysters on the half-shell on their menu. We were greeted by a very nice front desk hostess who sat us in Ronnie’s section. From the minute we sat down he was truly the best server we’ve had in a very long time. He was quick to bring us anything we needed, great at taking our orders, quick with our drinks, and truly just a very kind and genuinely friendly soul from the beginning of his welcoming to the end. There was nothing fake or pushy or “too much” about him. It’s always super annoying at restaurants when the server returns every 3 minutes to interrupt you eating food to ask how everything is going. Ronnie was the exact opposite of that. He came to offer his helpful hand at the right times and also the perfect amount of times too. His calm and kind demeanor added with his sincere care for our experience truly made us feel super comfortable and enjoyed our food all the more. We loved the beautiful spread of oysters, a perfectly arranged crab boil, a very fulfilling poboy and some yummy spicey bloody Mary’s from the bar. Truly everything was perfect from the food to Mr.Ronnie running our entire experience, assuring that we will definitely be back again soon. And request only to be sitting in his section again. We’ve found a gem in the rough and we couldn’t be any happier. Thank you, Ronnie for being one of the greatest ones. Truly!

Our waitress Samiya was great. Attentive to our table without being bothersome with asking too often if we needed anything. Brought refills on her own. We come here regularly but the service this time was above the rest.

Seafood boil done right!

We go regularly because we love the boils. We recently had Chad as our server and top notch! We will be returning when he is working because best service here yet. Food is always spot on.

I have never left a review before, but this experience was so bad that I felt the need to share it.
We came in on Father’s Day and informed the hostess how many people were in our party. The young lady at the front desk told us that as soon as the rest of our party arrived, we would be seated. A manager came over and confirmed the same thing.
When the rest of our party arrived, we expected to be seated as promised. Instead, we were told that another party who arrived after us would be seated first. After questioning this, we were then told that the hostess had either forgotten to put us on the waitlist or never added us at all.

Not only was this frustrating, but it was also incredibly unprofessional. We followed the instructions we were given and ended up being penalized because of the restaurant’s mistake. On a busy holiday like Father’s Day, I understand delays happen, but poor communication, disorganization, and refusing to honor what your staff and manager told us is unacceptable.

This completely ruined the start of our Father's Day celebration. We will not be returning, and I would encourage management to properly train staff on handling waitlists and customer service so this doesn't happen to other families.

Wow! Where do I begin, the greeter was helpless, as he stated that there were only two servers working the floor and our wait will be between 30-45 minutes. A good greeter should've suggested ordering to go. But he ss busy laughing and playing with t he manager and other staff. The manager was sitting at the front right table laughing and eating with staff while there was over 8 groups waiting to be seated. The food was 😔 sad. I ordered Calamari which was old, and reheated to become unbeatable. I ordered spicy...which it wasn't. The tracking system used to tell uou the status of your food is useless. I received a notification that my good was ready but it wasn't and I had to wait another 15 minutes. I do not recommend this location unless there's a change in management.

We love this place. Reasonable prices. Delicious food. Good drink selection. Our favorite is the Hook & Reel sauce, spicy. My only recommendation is for them to ditch the sea foam wafer things that they bring out before the meal. They're just too weird. Everything else is full of flavor and fun to eat.

Me and my sis went and the day manger was there with other co workers and they didn't have enough server's so it was a 30 to 45 min wait.. but there was so many tables not being used.and the host said that they were short staff..so each server could only take 4 tables 🤔 so that's why it was a long wait..sitting there for about 20 minutes we decided to order on line and just go home.. but that wasn't the worst part.. watch the manger mingle with the othe day workers and not even try to help was also terrible. But when we got in the text the food was ready.. went and showed the people handing out the to go orders ..and he say only half your order was ready.. then bring the other half in about 10 minutes and it wasn't fresh either 😒 I will not be spending my money like that..sad service to me..

I wish you guys were in Houston!!! You actually know how to season all of the different shell fish. From the drinks to the food, everything was delicious!!! I'll definitely return whenever I'm back in town.

For a weekend service was quick and not crowded. Shawnee was an awesome server and on time with the service. Food was delish and drinks even better.
