We love Spike's. The food is consistently excellent and reasonably priced for BBQ. The atmosphere is decidedly small town hole in the wall, but we mostly do take out. Our only wishs are that they were open longer hours and made more food. They tend to run out of things rather early. And when the meat is sold out they close early (almost all the time).

Spykes to rescue for our family reunion meal. Your brisket was a huge hit for our family luncheon. Thank you for ease of ordering and picking up. Definitely our go to spot for future reunions!

Best bbq we have had in forever! The ribs and brisket were the most tender and moist and smoky delicious. Even the sausage was incredible and we don’t usually get sausage. I can’t tell you about the sauce because the meats were so delicious on their own. We just moved to the Kingsland area and now have a favorite place to eat.

My family arrived in Burnet County, Texas in 1860. Mom's milk was BBQ sauce in its purest form.
I had the sausage plate with a quarter pound of brisket. The sausage was cold and didn't taste as if it had come from the smoker. The brisket had the consistency of being boiled rather than smoked. The meat was gray and lacked the crisp butter layer of a truly smoked piece of meat. It was extremely bland.
I have been to Spyke's a long time ago and it smelled like BBQ and the brisket and sausage I had then were great. I have no idea as to what has happened to the quality of the BBQ.
I don't think that we'll be back.

Great BBQ, nice staff, and bonus points for having Alice in Chains on instead of sappy country music πŸ‘

Ordered in advance fifteen pounds of BBQ and assorted extras for an important family event. Everything was packaged well and waiting at the agreed pick-up time. Once on the table at home, the food looked and tasted delicious. Thank you!

The utensil dispenser was dirty.
The trash can in the second room was filthy.
The turkey is too salty.
My friend and I won't be going back.

Definitely a new bbq spot for me. Honest feeling inside. Honest bbq. That’s always been the best thing for me when trying a new spot.

This is the worst bbq I’ve had in Texas, and the staff is incredibly rude. I brought my disabled mother here and the owner joked about her wheelchair where she could hear!!

Disgusting human. I hope people see the way you treat people and choose to not use your business because of it.
