First time at Alondras in La Vernia,TX. A gem of a Mexican restaurant, friendly hometown atmosphere. I ordered A Gordita and A Tostada, both with picadillo as the meat choice. The Gordita was stuffed with just the right amount of freshly prepared ingredients to make it delicious, and I might add it was not greasy at all like you may experience at some other restaurants. The Tostada was equally tasty, freshly prepared and crispy. The complimentary chips and salsa were an extra bonus to round up my meal.

Food was ok. Corn tortillas were pretty darn good. Only thing was that they were cleaning around us and started mopping with strong cleaner so you could taste it in every bite. Ruined the meal!! Why do they do this when people are eating?So not very happy with that situation.

Horrible food. Its slop. They refry their chips, they put them in the oven about a million times. They are soo stale. They have old beans and their menudo is gross. They have zero pride in their food. The presentation is horrible. The guacamole is runny and their chile is gross. It's dirty inside. They don't wipe down the salsa containers, they are full of everyone's dirty hands and old salsa. The salsa Verde is bitter. This is the best place if you want to eat out of a toilet. Muy mal!! No wonder why no Mexicans eat there. We will never go back.
