“Rabel’s Roadhaus BBQ absolutely made our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding in La Vernia unforgettable this past weekend! The chicken and beef fajitas were incredibly tender and packed with flavor—served alongside rice, beans, and all the fajita fixings, every single guest left happy and full. Beyond the amazing food, the staff at Rabel’s truly stood out. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure both the wedding party and our guests were taken care of the entire time. That level of service made such a special day even more memorable. Even though we live in East Texas, we’ll definitely be stopping by Rabel’s every chance we get when we’re near La Vernia. If you’re looking for incredible BBQ or top-notch catering, do yourself a favor and check them out—you won’t be disappointed! We love them!”

“Came here by chance and now have a regular eating spot from the one visit. Food was amazing, server was incredible and the place felt very relaxing. The fact they have gluten free bread that doesn't taste gross, actually really good, and isn't powdery was a wonderfully surprise.

If I had one bad thing to say it would be that it was just a little toasty inside. May need more fans. But that might just be me.

“This was our first time at Baldy’s La Vernia and we will be back. Sherry, our waitress, made it an excellent visit. She was kind, friendly and helpful. Food was excellent! I had the special, flat iron steak, salad, baked potato and chocolate cake, it was fantastic-a juicy, tender steak!”

“On Sunday, July 26th, we hosted my son’s 3rd heavenly birthday at the Den. Leading up to the party my communications with Jessika were wonderful. She was responsive, helpful, and kind through it all. When we arrived on Sunday staff greeted us and were so joyful and supportive. When the staff inside was busy, Kim, at the bar outside was quick to help us! She was fantastic!! We will definitely be hosting future parties at the den. Thank you for making my sons 3rd heavenly birthday one to remember 🫶🏼”

“The food was great! I got 6 crab rangoon, egg roll, cup of soup, and a huge plate of Pad Thai for under $20. It was cooked fresh and the couple that was working were so sweet! The cook (husband) came out to ask if we were ok waiting a little longer cause the pad thai noodles still needed to soften more. It was not long at all though. We will return!”

“Old restaurant that's been a staple in this small town. Food is great, service was great and pricing are reasonable. Wife had chicken fried steak and I had their cheeseburger. Their fries are cooked golden brown to perfection. Fried okra is another great side.”

“I really thought the staff would be friendly, but unfortunately that’s not what I received. I pulled up to the window to order 2 drinks, I said hello and nothing in return except getting my order. In the middle of my 1st drink order, I was interrupted by the drive thru lady when she was trying to finish my drink order before I could say the rest of what I wanted in it. So I had to repeat myself because she repeated it wrong. The 2nd drink order, I was interrupted again and therefore had to repeat the order again. After I paid, she only handed my payment and receipt and all she did was close the drive thru window in the middle of me attempting to say thank you. I then make it to the pick up window to see drinks that I didn’t order what were given to me. I let the lady know that it wasn’t the correct order. After asking what I had ordered she offers to remake them. I then receive the orders to find they were still wrong. At this point I was just going to deal with the drinks I received and proceeded to say thank you and have a good day to the window being closed while trying to be courteous to them. I would give it less than 4 stars because not being friendly in that field of work it definitely a turn off from the place but from my half correct order, the coffee seemed to taste good and I can’t complain on the pricing. Eventually I may give this place another try but for now I was disappointed in the not so friendly service.”

“We have been eyeing this place from Facebook and we were in the area to try it out. We first tried to call since we are coming from floresville but no one would answer the phone. We came and the sign said open. We came in and were greeted by two boys who were patient with us while we tried a few ice cream flavors. I got the pops pink drink and that was great and my husband got the cookies n cream milk shake and he absolutely loved it. My daughter decided on the cherry vanilla with sprinkles! Everything was great but the tables were a little and some gnats flying around. Overall a decent visit and we will be returning. Oh, they have fun table games!”
