“We took a different route to the beach and we were hungry. Looked up places in Stockdale and stumbled upon Down and Out. We ordered the special, a crispy fried chicken thigh sandwich with jalapeño slaw and hot honey.
Served fresh and was one of the juiciest fried chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. If you are in the area highly recommend!!!”

“Now let me tell you just how lovely and small town atmosphere my experience was at this DQ. We went in and ordered lunch and I showed the cashier a photo of a DQ cupcake treat, she said they didn’t sale those BUT she offered to make a a replica and it was so cute! Almost to cute to eat! Our cashiers name is Gabby, I’ve traveled to many places and I will tell you one thing…..this young lady is management material……period. Trust me! She did everything right! Thank you DQ for a wonderful meal and atmosphere!”

“This was our first time at Baldy’s La Vernia and we will be back. Sherry, our waitress, made it an excellent visit. She was kind, friendly and helpful. Food was excellent! I had the special, flat iron steak, salad, baked potato and chocolate cake, it was fantastic-a juicy, tender steak!”

“The food was great! I got 6 crab rangoon, egg roll, cup of soup, and a huge plate of Pad Thai for under $20. It was cooked fresh and the couple that was working were so sweet! The cook (husband) came out to ask if we were ok waiting a little longer cause the pad thai noodles still needed to soften more. It was not long at all though. We will return!”
