First time at Alondras in La Vernia,TX. A gem of a Mexican restaurant, friendly hometown atmosphere. I ordered A Gordita and A Tostada, both with picadillo as the meat choice. The Gordita was stuffed with just the right amount of freshly prepared ingredients to make it delicious, and I might add it was not greasy at all like you may experience at some other restaurants. Food was ok. Corn tortillas were pretty darn good. Only thing was that they were cleaning around us and started mopping with strong cleaner so you could taste it in every bite. Ruined the meal!! Why do they do this when people are eating?So not very happy with that situation.

The food was really good, and we went through the drive-thru, which is very convenient. The downside is that we ordered the special 6 tacos for $7.99, and we waited 25 minutes in the drive-thru for our food.
