We’ve been loyal customers of this restaurant for years and typically dine here at least 4-6 times a month. We’ve always enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere, which is why this recent visit was disappointing.
A burger that was previously served with the standard toppings now came with separate charges for lettuce, tomato, condiments, and even cheese. We have ordered the same burgers many times and have never been charged extra for these basic items before. Seeing a $17 burger become significantly more expensive through add-on fees felt frustrating and misleading. Why not list the price at $24 instead of “add ons”.
To make matters worse, the martinis have increased by $4 each, yet they are still made with well vodka rather than a name-brand. The wait staff said that if we had asked for call brand , it would’ve been higher. We understand that restaurants face rising costs, but unexpected charges for basic burger toppings and higher drink prices without any noticeable improvement in quality leave a bad impression.
We hope management will reconsider these pricing changes or at least make them more transparent. We’d like to continue supporting this restaurant, but this visit left us questioning the value we’re receiving as long-time customers.
Seems to have a high staff turnover.
My wife and I went there for Father's day. We sat on the patio and it was excellent. We have been there several times. It is our favorite restaurant. Thanks to the management for a great restaurant.

I was genuinely disappointed with my experience at Opus Steakhouse & Bistro.
My wife and I had eaten here once before and, frankly, were not particularly impressed with the food. When we heard about the Buffalo Trace Bourbon Night, we saw it as an opportunity to give Opus a second chance while enjoying an event centered around one of our interests. As a bourbon enthusiast and collector with more than 120 bottles in my collection, this was a special event that I had been looking forward to for over a week.
About a week and a half before the event, I called and made what I believed was a reservation. During that call, I specifically asked whether my wife could attend and have something other than bourbon. The young man I spoke with even put me on hold and checked with someone before confirming that would be fine. At no point during that conversation was I told that I was being placed on a waiting list rather than receiving a confirmed reservation.
When we arrived the night of the event, we were handed a drink and then informed that we could not enter because there was no space available. Standing there with a drink in hand only to be told we were not actually admitted to the event was embarrassing and frustrating. We had planned our evening around this experience and were excited to attend, only to find out that what we thought was a reservation was apparently a spot on a waiting list.
What made the situation even more disappointing was the lack of effort to make things right. Mistakes happen, and most reasonable people understand that. However, there was no meaningful attempt to accommodate us, no alternative offered, and very little acknowledgment of the inconvenience and embarrassment caused by the situation.
The food itself remains what I would consider average—certainly not bad, but not memorable enough to overcome the customer service experience. We ultimately left and went to Kemah Steak Company, where we enjoyed excellent service, great steaks, and some outstanding Garrison Brothers bourbon. Ironically, the evening we had hoped to spend at Opus turned into a reminder of how much good service and customer care matter.
I wanted Opus to prove my first impression wrong. Unfortunately, this experience only reinforced it. For a restaurant hosting specialty events, communication and customer service should be just as important as the food and drinks being served.

I've dined here on two separate occasions, a few years apart. First time I got a steak and what was the best lobster tail I've had in the Gulf Coast region. Perfectly cooked seasoned and buttered. Very fresh. The second time was last night and I got veal New Orleans, And it was absolutely delicious. The breading was delicate and flavorful. Every time I come to South Shore hotel I like to treat myself to opus! Shout out to Andrew for dealing with my incompetence yesterday regarding the menu, he was very patient and sweet. thanks y'all!

For our mothers day meal at 2pm yesterday we all ordered 6oz filets. My two sons and husband ordered theirs medium rare and all seemed ok with the way theirs came out. I ordered mine medium and it came out well done. No pink at all. They took it back and then it came out rare! By the third time it came out it looked like medium. However, by that time my whole family had finished eating. I ended up taking most of mine to go. However, I was shocked that they didn’t at least comp my steak. It was mother’s day and I didn’t even get to eat with my family. The manager brought my steak the third time and just said sorry about that. I was nice about it all but just feel like if you dont even get to enjoy your meal with your family you shouldn’t have to pay for it. Doubt we will go back. Seems like a “steakhouse” should have easily figured out by now how to determine the temperature of a steak. It shouldn’t be a guessing game where the customer has to keep cutting into it.

My husband surprised me by taking me to dinner for Mother’s Day. Our reservation was at 7:30. Sonny was our waiter and he was our waiter the very first time we ate at this restaurant. He is very knowledgeable about the menu and he is very passionate about making sure you have a great time. The drinks were great and everything was great until the main courses. I ordered the lamb chops (ordered medium) and when they first arrived they were well. So tough that I couldn’t cut into it. The second time they arrived it was raw. I had take the food back a third time to get them correctly cooked. Sonny was great at helping me get my food cooked properly and informed the manager. However the manager when he arrived at the table seek very uninterested about my concerns and it was at this time 9 pm. We didn’t leave until 9:30 pm. We had an great first dinner but this experience was very off putting.

$350 down the drain!! We were looking forward to celebrating Mother’s Day with family in a beautiful setting. Not only did they delivered our appetizers to the wrong table, when the took it up, instead of making it new, they placed it under a warmer to get stale. The steak that was supposed to be rare was brought out WAY over cooked. We were told it was due to “bad lighting” even though we were by a window with lots of light. 90% of the food was lacking flavor and appeal? But not one person asked us his we liked our food or offered assistance. We actually had to flag down our waitress several times. We did not ask for any compensation, we just wanted to get out of there…..Taco Bell it is! What a shame!!

Well let me say this. It was me and my wife's 10 year anniversary, and usually for our anniversary we would go to Perry's. But this year we stayed at the south shore resort and came here for that dinner. I saw they had a ribeye, so I asked if I could get it blackened, and they said no problem, and I ordered the blue cheese with it and OMG it was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the lobster dinner and it was also amazing. So good bye Perry's. Service was great, and the appetizer was on point too. I highly recommend having dinner here. Very well done Opus.

Second time dining here. First time was great with Sonny as our server. We thought it would be our new go to special occasion restaurant. We went again on our anniversary last Thursday and were seriously disappointed. Our waitress had zero personality and I had to ask her her name. I ordered 4 broiled scallops. They came out in a cup of water. I should have sent them back. I had the soft shell crab with crabcake app. They were good. Wife ordered raw oysters, also good. Key lime pie was bland. We were so disappointed but still left a nice tip. Spent $250. for a big dud of an experience. We may not go back but if we do the only server we will accept is Sonny.
