DV FOODS African Market/kitchen (formerly Lagos Island mkt)

I am very happy with my order. The produce arrived when I was at work so I was very impressed with the packaging. Peppers were fresh and neatly boxed. The frozen produce remained frozen, I got back from work, about 2 hrs after delivery. The fish (Tilapia and Mackerel) were big sizes, perfect for grilling. I appreciate the responsiveness to my questions and concerns. This is my new destination to order African produce. Great job!

Victoria was very friendly and helpful. I had ordered online and just came to pick up the meal. We ordered amala with ewedu and gbegiri soup with beef and extra soup and swallow, hoping that it would be enough to fill the two of us. We definitely couldn't afford to order two complete orders of the meal, but it was doable cost-wise to just add extra swallow and soup. We ended up spending $31. I understand that the ingredients are imported here, so that makes it expensive. We just can't personally afford to spend that on two of us, let alone if it doesn't quite fill both of us, so we won't be coming often.
The food was amazing! When my family makes the food that we miss from our home in Nigeria, we make poundo. It just doesn't compare to the real yam from Nigeria, so I was excited to try the amala. I haven't learned to make that yet. It was delicious! The texture and taste were wonderful. No lumps. The soup was amazing, too! Just the right amount of spice. It was well proportioned (just the right amount of soup for the amount of swallow that we got). If we could afford $31 for two of us, and the portion was just a little bit bigger, we would come here for this wonderful taste of home much more often, but it was an amazing rare treat for us.

If I can give it no STAR’s⭐️ I would I was very upset about my order that I placed over the phone today an the young lady that answered was very rude an when I got there my food was ready for pickup an when I got to the car I checked my food before I pulled off an that’s when I noticed there wasn’t much of nothing in there to eat so mind you I placed an order for two an I spent $37 so I went back in there and ask her were was the rest of my food that I ordered an she replied that was everything and I told her not everything cause I just spent $37 in total she agreed to give me more egusi soup w/goat which was my order with fufu and when she added more, it still wasn’t enough, so I took what she gave me. I left the store went in my car and checked everything thats when I seen that the goat meat was nothing but bones cover with Egusi just know I’m piss and they will never get my money or my service again ✌🏽

Only two pieces of meat of meat in egusi soup and it all tasted horrible
