Have tried fried/boiled crayfish, boudain ball, gumbo, fried shrimp, gumbo( good but I like darker rue), frog legs. All good. right along with the sides. “First time visit to Calesa’s. Recommended by my friend Chef Mike. If he says it is good food then I know I have to try it. We were a party of four and each of us had a different entree. Let me tell you now, absolutely everything was delicious. From the fresh chips and salsa, the hibiscus tea, to the various entrees including carne asada, quesadillas, bistek Mexicana, and my order of Platillo Calesa (carne asada/shrimp/chicken), all the way to the dessert of Tres Leche cake. It tasted like authentic homemade Mexican food should. Mike has never let me down and he certainly didn’t this time. We will be back as often as possible and wish Mike and Calesa’s the best of luck on their new collaboration. It was great to see Mike back in a kitchen doing what he does best. Give this place a try, you can thank me later.”

“Hands down the very best restaurant my wife and I have ever dined at. It is not cheap and anyone who gives this less than a stellar review is mad because of price. Drinks here are amazing, but the steak is the best in the world. I’ve been to steak houses from DC to Isla Mujeres and I’m always disappointed. Jack knows how to cook a steak better than anyone. Service is always top notch. Staff is exceptionally well trained. There is a steakhouse in buffalo gap who can almost get close to jacks quality steak but not quite. I still pick Jack. There is a place in Washington DC called 1789 and it is a close third but Jack always wins.”

“It was good, but not the best I've had. Also, how can a bbq restaurant run out of brisket? After we ordered, 6 of us, the waitress informed us they were out of brisket and inly 3 of us would get brisket. So we got sausage. A bit disappointing.”

“Moe's has the best hand tossed pizza I've ever eaten. the owner, Sam, and his manager John are awesome people. super friendly and helpful and they make amazing pizzas. I've eaten here four times this week and every time was splendid. if you're passing through White Oak or live nearby, do yourself a favor and order Moe's. Can never go wrong with the combo, or the chicken bacon ranch.”
