“Granny's Restaurant was a great find just about a block off of Hwy 77 in Lexington, Texas! We ordered chicken tenders & onion rings and chicken fried steak strips & fries. Our two meals came with sweet tea and cake for dessert for a very reasonable price. The restaurant was clean, staff was very friendly and efficient, and the food - really good. Like made-from-scratch good!“

“We accidentally found this gem on October 17th, 2024 heading home from a vacation. We had a cheeseburger and onion rings and a Patty Melt and fries. Both awesome and cooked perfectly, they had the best fresh cut fries I've had in 30 + years. Best tasting beef we've had in quite awhile. The staff was so very nice and accommodating. We'll definitely be back again.“

“Stopped on the way home after a Saturday night Rangers game in Arlington. It was almost midnight and Whataburger was busy with a line at the drive-thru and full parking lot with a welcoming light. It was Saturday night after the dirt racetrack down the road had finished. Lots of conversations but not to loud. We had friendly service with a smile and the food tasted so good. Biscuits with sausage gravy for me with fresh brewed decaf and two sausage egg and cheese taquitos for my man. Great stop for our trip.“

“Not sure why but the group I was with and myself had had nothing to eat all day and were out in Hempstead for a football game.
I really have never gone to Dairy Queen for food only ice cream but the women I was with had certain items they enjoyed so since it was open (and many were not at this time of the evening)-we decided to drop in and grab a bite to eat.
Everything was very clean. The young lady at the cash register had only been working there a very few days, but she was doing her best to do a good job which we appreciated. It was also nice to see other employees stepping in to help if she needed it. We were very scattered with our order so that made it difficult for her. Once we finished ordering, I was thinking we would sit down and they would call us for our food but within five minutes of ordering there, it was coming out of the kitchen so I had just gotten it paid for and we were taking it back to the dining area.
I had a taco salad. It was small in comparison to other taco salads I’ve had but it contained all the essential ingredients. They forgot the salsa, but that was OK. The only issue I had with it was the bowl/taco shell tasted like stale oil. Not sure if you’ve ever had a hard shell with a funny taste, but that’s what I would compare it to one of the ladies had three tacos and some cheese bites and she said hers was good. That was her standard go to the other lady had a crispy chicken salad with ranch dressing. She said it was very good and it looked good.
All in all, I would say this was a successful trip for what we were after. We were all thinking we were starving ….Dairy Queen fit the bill.“
