David Beard's Catfish King

First time at this location and it was a big letdown. We placed a carry-out order expecting the same quality we’ve had at the Lufkin and Monroe, LA locations, but this experience didn’t come close.
We ordered a large catch and a small catch, and both came with the exact same amount—4 strips of fish. Paying extra for a “large” with no difference in portion size doesn’t make sense.
We also ordered Cajun catches, but only one had a light sprinkle of seasoning. The fish overall looked bland and wasn’t very appetizing.
The hostess handled our order, and while she wasn’t rude, the overall experience just felt very basic and underwhelming.
Overall, this location did not meet the standard we’ve experienced at other Catfish King locations.

Food was very good..I would have preferred my fish a little crisper,but it was good..the salad bar is small but has everything for a salad that you would need..I see it as a old fashion type of salad bar..I definitely recommend this place..our server was extremely nice!

The best place to eat in Lake Livingston.
Im from Houston and now when I come visit family, this will be my new go to restaurant. Very tasty, fresh salad bar. Excellent service.
100 times better than Mannys.
Also, price is very fair for quality as well as quanity.

Great place for lunch and dinner. The appetizer platter is a great value with homemade onion Rings, pickles, and mozzarella cheese sticks.
Salad bar with house made ranch and thousand island. On the bar was potatoe salad, and macaroni salad too. Both fresh and homemade. It has pickled green tomatoes which are excellent. The pinto beans are delicious with just a little extra salt and pepper added.
I had the Cajun fish and shrimp plate. Excellent value here too. We will be back again. To try the baked fish and shrimp with gumbo.
