Wife and I have been celebrating our anniversary at this Steakhouse since it opened, We were in Austin during our anniversary couldn’t decide where to eat, wife suggested we just wait until we get back to Lubbock to celebrate, So we waited a week to eat at the best steakhouse in Lubbock,
Filet mignon steaks were good, side salads were WAY overpriced for just lettuce and egg slices. Vegetables were just okay. The presentation was not good, It was as though the steak was laid on the plate and everything else was just slopped on. Appetizer of Crab stuffed mushrooms was definitely overpriced as there was no hint of any crab meat. We were told that the crab was in chunks but it never made it to our mushrooms. The dessert, bananas foster was good but $20 was overpriced...
Excellent food, but the music was too loud. When the waiter initially said something to me, I told him to please repeat it so I could hear him over the music. When he did, I asked him please to turn the music down. He said he would have to speak to the manager about it. Apparently, the manager said no. I expect to have to talk louder at a sports bar. A fine restaurant should have music that is noticeable, but not obtrusive. Double Nickel fails in this respect. The next...
