New: Unfortunately this last visit was uncomfortable due to the lack of an itemized receipt. Server repeated the items charged but the total was different than what was on the menu. The iPad payment went straight to the tip so it was also hard to double check if the correct wine was entered (I assume this caused the price gap) or if an automatic gratuity was applied.

La Diosa is one of those places that immediately pulls you out of whatever mood you walked in with and drops you somewhere entirely different—in the best way. From the moment you step inside, it feels less like a restaurant and more like an old-world café, wine cellar, art gallery, and lounge all layered into one eclectic, soulful space.

The interior is stunning and thoughtfully chaotic in a way that works: exposed beams, hanging lanterns and star lights, rich colors, Frida-inspired art, mismatched tables, velvet chairs, communal seating, tucked-away corners, and rooms that feel like they were meant for lingering conversations. Every turn gives you something new to look at, whether it’s a massive art installation overhead, a wall of wine, or a cozy lounge setup that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.

Food-wise, tapas and paella are the stars here. This is the kind of menu that encourages sharing, ordering a few things, sipping wine, and letting the night unfold. The chalkboard sign lets you know what they’re proud of—and it shows. Pair that with their wine selection and you’re set.

There’s also live music on certain nights, which fits the space perfectly. After a certain hour it shifts into a 21+ vibe, and it truly feels like the place comes alive in the evening—dim lighting, music, conversation, and that intimate, almost transportive energy.

La Diosa isn’t rushed, flashy, or trying to be trendy. It’s warm, artistic, and unapologetically itself. Come here when you want an experience, not just a meal. It’s ideal for a date night, a long catch-up with friends, or anyone who appreciates atmosphere just as much as what’s on the table.

Good- Nice ambience. The jazz band was great. I liked that they weren’t too loud that we could still have conversation so I didn’t mind the band fee of $5/person.
Bad- The cake fee of $10 and the credit card fee of 3 1/2% was a little ridiculous on top of the food being way overpriced for the quantity and taste. Our server was terrible. Zero personality, didn’t do anything unless we asked (more water, clear table, plates and forks for cake), had to be reminded of dishes we ordered. I don’t recommend this place for a special occasion. We went for my daughter’s birthday. They did nothing to make it special and penalized us for bringing a cake. No mention of that when I called or on arrival. We went to Funky Door last year and had a totally different experience. Should’ve gone back.

Always my easy get away location for a relaxing lunch. My favorite is the lamb chops and the winter seasonal tomato soup.

Cute place, food was good but not spectacular. We chose three dishes and the paella was cold. Nice wine list. Unfortunately we were seated right next to the band and it was very loud. Probably return, but will ask to be seated elsewhere. We had reservations and recommend it, it was crowded on Friday night.

Weird place — it almost feels like they don’t want your business. The first time my wife and I stopped by for a glass of wine on a Saturday in August around 10:20 PM, the band was still playing, but the bartender refused to serve us, saying they were closing soon — even though their official hours show they’re open until 11 PM.
The second time, three of us came in for dinner on TTU Parents Night Saturday in October. The restaurant was half empty, yet we were turned away again, this time because they were “only accepting guests with reservations.” There’s no mention of that policy anywhere on their website.
Definitely won’t be trying again.

Wow and oh wow. What a wonderfully unexpected surprise while in town this spot is. Glad we found this artistic, quaint space and thrilled that we explored and shared the offerings family style. The meatballs were a huge hit, as were the white beans. We all agreed it seemed like they forgot to add any salt to the sardines, but the herbal flavors were nice. Fair warning that the peppers are considerably more heat than similar shishito dishes, but still good. Perhaps the nicest surprise was the wine that we ordered relative to its price point…win win. Will definitely be back if I can. Hand made offerings abound. PS- it would be nice to have pulpa on the menu for the deep Spanish vibe! Great service all the way around.

This place is a gem. Very quaint and eclectic atmosphere. Service is always good, they bring the tapas one at a time to not rush you through this culinary experience. Each tapa plate is curated with such wonderful spices and flavors. Also, good wine selections with something for everyone regarding price range. We enjoy the calm dining experience.
