I ate here years ago, and it seems relatively unchanged. Solid fried chicken, not very hot, but okay. Big pieces with a tender crunch (not a tooth breaker) Fried were not crisp (good fries are hard to get anywhere these days.) The man n plus, this place is considerably less expensive than other chicken places. Service was dull eyed, but my chicken came out quickly. Not quite recommended, but deserves another try.
Being completely honest over a 4 month period beginning in January 2023 I made several trips to Rusty Rooster for lunch take out and sit down dinner. Each time I’ve had a combination of fried chicken and fried catfish. The quality of their food ranges from not very good to really good. The service is excellent. Nice people work there. Great tasting chicken. I'd personally recommend the spicy strips, but my wife wouldn't agree, and if you would listen to her the mix plate is the way to go. Bottom line is it's one of the better places to go in a BBQ heavy area. Side note, fries are meh.
